Along with the dates, the authorities will also start the IMU CET registrations for 2026 session. Students meeting the minimum eligibility criteria will be able to apply from imu.edu.in. IMU CET 2026 Exam Overview
The Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) 2026 exam will be held in computer-based mode across various test centres across the nation to shortlist candidates for Diploma in Nautical Science, BSc (Nautical Science), and BE/BTech (Marine Engineering) courses.
It is held for 3-hour time durations, and the question paper is in MCQ format. There is a negative marking of 0.25.
Candidates can also join MBA and MTech courses via IMU CET, or they can apply via CMAT/CAT/MAT and CUET PG/GATE/PGCET scores. Preference in admissions will be given to candidates with IMU-CET ranks. Hence, the candidates are encouraged to register for IMU CET.

IMU CET 2026 Application form Date
The authorities will release the IMUCET application form in online mode on its official portal and students abiding by the eligibility norms can apply till the last date. The application form is to be filled out and submitted before the final date. No applications after the final date will be accepted. Automated e-mails/SMS will be sent to every registered applicant on successful registration of the application, uploading of the admit card, publication of results, etc.

IMUCET 2026 Admit Card Date
The IMU CET admit card 2026 will be issued to all students who successfully registered for the exam. The hall ticket will be made available at the exam body's portal and students can download it using their credentials. The admit card will consist of student's name, roll number, exam date, timings, venue, and exam day instructions. While downloading hall ticket, students must keep atleast 2-3 copies for a safer side in case they miss any. They will have to carry admit card to exam centre on exam day along with one valid photo ID proof like aadhar card, voter ID card, PAN card etc. Failing to do so, they will be denied entry to appear in the exam.
IMU CET 2026 Result Dates
The authorities will declare the IMU CET result 2026 online after the entrance exam is over. The IMUCET 2026 result consists of a rank list for UG, MBA, and MTech courses separately. The IMU CET 2026 rank card is also published under the respective logins of candidates. To access the rank card/result of IMU CET 2026, students must log in using their required credentials. Aspirants qualifying for the entrance exam are then called for the counselling process.

Students shortlisted as per the results will be called to appear in the counselling, which consists of various stages such as registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, fee payment, etc. IMU CET counselling will take place in two phases.

There are three stages: the registration process, the IMU Common Entrance Test, and the online counselling process. After getting the Rank Certificate, candidates must apply for online counselling to seek admission to IMU campuses. For the Affiliated Institutes and other Maritime Training Institutes, they need to apply directly to the respective institutes using their IMU CET Rank Certificate.
Age criteria – For Btech, BSc, BBA and DNS

For Male: General-25 years, OBC (NCL)-28 years, SC/ST-30 years
For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL)-30 years, SC/ST-32 years.
No age criteria for Mtech, MBA and M.Sc program
For the PG graduate Diploma course in Marine Engineering - Maximum age: Male : For General-28 years OBC (NCL)-31 years SC/ST-33 years. Female : For General-30 years OBC (NCL)-33 years SC/ST-35 years
To apply for UG BTech programme at IMU campuses or affiliated institutes, as well as DGS-approved pre-sea courses at Maritime Training Institutes, candidates must register. Candidates who qualify for IMU CET will receive a Rank Certificate. Admission to IMU campuses is based on CET ranks.

The IMU CET 2026 exam dates are usually held in May month of the year. However students are advised to visit official IMU website for the updates.
