Q: What is RRB Group D selection process?

RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

RRB Group D Notification 2025: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) conduct RRB Group D level 1 exam to allow candidates to work in the Indian Railways. RRB Group D Notification 2025: Application process

RRB Group D Application Form 2025 will be made available online. The application fee for RRB exam is INR 500 for all candidates except fee concession categories while it is INR 250 for PwBD, Female, Transgender, Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Minority Communities, Economically Backward Class. RRB Group D application form filling fee is refunded after candidates after in the CBT. The window to modify the RRB Group D application form is made available after the application process closes. RRB Group D 2025 Exam Pattern

RRB Group D Exam Pattern for CBT comprises four sections: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs. According to RRB Group D exam pattern, the test paper comprises a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. PwBD candidates accompanied by a scribe are given 120 minutes extra time. Each question is for one mark. 1/3 marks are deducted for the wrong answers. The qualifying marks for the exam are 40 per cent for UR & EWS candidates while it is 30 per cent for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, and ST categories. Candidates must solve the previous years' RRB Group D question papers inorder to know the paper pattern.
