CLAT Current Affairs & GK Preparation Tips

Some of the tips that candidates must keep in mind while preparing for the Current Affairs & GK section of the CLAT exam include:

  • Newspapers: The best way to keep yourself ahead with the latest happenings of the world is by reading newspapers daily. However, you should not read just any newspaper but reputed ones such as The Hindu and The Statesman. Also, it is advisable to go through the editorial section of the newspaper as it helps build your vocabulary and also develop analytical skills, which is extremely important for the CLAT exam 2027.
  • Books: Apart from reading the newspapers, it is also important to refer to some best CLAT books for GK such as:

Lucent’s General Knowledge

General Knowledge by Tarun Goyal

Current Affairs Yearly by Arihant Publications

Manorama Year Book

  • Notes: While preparing, you must create short notes for yourself that you can refer to at the time of revision. Making notes is also a good way of retaining facts.
  • CLAT question paper: Candidates need to attempt previous years’ CLAT question papers, including CLAT 2026, CLAT 2025, CLAT 2024 question paper and CLAT 2023 question paper. This will help the candidate understand the types of questions asked, difficulty level, and readiness for the CLAT 2025 exam.
  • Revision: Current Affairs and GK is such a vast area of knowledge that even if you manage to read everything but revise nothing, there is a good chance that you will end up forgetting everything. Therefore, time-to-time revision of what you read is a must in this section.
  • Discipline: While all the points and tips mentioned above are important, none of them will help if you are not able to keep yourself under discipline and dedicate proper time to the section. It is advisable to create a well-thought-out study plan and then strictly abide by it.
