Advocate
AILET Exam 2026 will be conducted for admission to BA LLB, LLM and PhD courses. Candidates can check the syllabus for AILET 2026 for all the programmes offered by National Law University (NLU) Delhi below:

No changes have been made in AILET yet, and it will be the same as last year syllabus. The major changes were made in AILET 2022 BA LLB and LLM syllabus only. For instance, the BA LLB question paper will now have only THREE sections (instead of five). The weightage of the three sections has also changed. In the case of LLM, the modified syllabus will have questions from two sections. Also, the tie-breaker procedure has been updated.
Advocates are the legal professionals who represent clients in court. They provide legal advice, draft legal documents, and argue cases in court. To become an advocate, you will have to complete the course and then enroll yourself at the State Bar Council. Thereafter, aspirants will have to register and appear for the AIBE exam. This exam will allow the candidates to receive the Certificate of Practice.

Legal Researcher
Legal researchers conduct research on legal issues and prepare legal documents. They may work for law firms, corporations, or government agencies.
To become a successful legal researcher, you will have to take the PhD in Law course after an LLM programme. However, if you want to go one step ahead and achieve mastery in legal research, you will have to earn and LLD degree.
Public Prosecutor
Public prosecutors are responsible for prosecuting criminal cases on behalf of the government. They investigate crimes, prepare cases for trial, and present evidence in court. You need a specialisation Criminal Law to become a public prosecutors.
Judge
AILET 2026 question paper will carry 35 questions of one mark each for English. The section will be based on topics of General English and grammar as under:

For AILET BA LLB 2026 exam, English language will comprise Reading comprehension, Sentence completion, Error correction, and Critical reasoning. The questions in Current Affairs and GK will be asked from Current events, Indian and international affairs, History, Geography, Politics, Economics, or General Science. However, the Logical reasoning will have questions from Syllogisms, Analogies, Coding-decoding, Blood relations, Puzzles or Critical thinking.
The profession of Judges can be pursued by passing the state level judicial service exam. The aspirants should know that their work include conducting the court cases and deliver decisions on legal matters. They are required to have a strong understanding of the law and facts of the case.

NLU Delhi BA LLB (Hons) cutoff 2026 is out for round 1 across different categories. For the students belongong to the General AI quota, the AILET cutoff score is 60. For the OBC category, the cutoff score is 330. Candidates can refer to the table below to view the category-wise cutoff details:

No, the presidency university do not accept AILET Score. Candidates have to appear either for PULAT or CLAT to get admission in the law courses offered by the varsity. Without it you can not get admission.
