Why AILET is Different from Other Law Entrance Exams

The AILET, organized by NLU Delhi, is harder than most other law entrance exams because it has limited seats, a tough pattern, and a unique AILET Syllabus 2027.

  • Single University Admission: You can use AILET only for NLU Delhi. CLAT gives seats in many NLUs, so the competition becomes tougher.
  • Higher Difficulty Level: The paper had tricky and deep questions, mostly in English and Logical Reasoning.
  • No Legal Reasoning in UG Exam: Unlike CLAT, AILET UG doesn’t have Legal Reasoning. It focuses more on English, GK, and Logical Reasoning.
  • Strong Focus on Logical Reasoning: You’ll find puzzles, critical thinking, and analytical sets that need a clear mind and practice.
  • Advanced English Section: It checks grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and sentence correction at a bit higher level.
  • Different Format in Qs: The AILET exam pattern has more direct questions, not long passages like CLAT.

A:

The Logical reasoning section carries the maximum weightage; i.e. 50 per cent in the AILET exam. Reasoning is actually a combination of both verbal logic, as well as analytical reasoning. So, one part is full of numbers and data, while the other is made of words and puzzles. Reasoning needs ample practice. Books by MK Pandey and RS Aggarwal will suffice. For Data Interpretation (DI) questions, the trick lies in forming the table. Once this is done, the rest of the questions flow automatically. Hence, the students are advised to prepare this subject carefully and give special attention.
