Don’t overthink instead analyse the performance and start preparing with a better strategy. Stay calm and focussed while evaluating the mistakes committed. Research and explore options to crack the exam.
After attempting the test I took a short break as I was hustling for the last few months.
While I was taking a break I started analysing my performance as well. I penned down all the analysed points for the betterment of my next exam attempt. Jotting them down is important or else the small details would skip your mind. The analysis of my performance in the exam helped me to identify the gaps. After identification, I immediately started working on these gaps.

The next steps
Next Exams – I started preparing for the upcoming tests. As MAT is conducted four times a year I was also focusing on MAT as well. This time I was focusing on enhancing my performance by not repeating the mistakes which were done during the last attempt.
Knowledge about Universities – Along with the preparation I was also gaining some knowledge and researching about several universities for details like their eligibility criteria, course curriculum, fees structure, and the placement facilities. I invested a good amount of time to make a list about the universities where MAT is accepted. I am mentioning these universities and categorizing them according to their eligibility percentile.
Some of the universities with different percentiles are given below:

MAT mock test practice is essential but not enough. You will need to go through the MAT syllabus and understand the fundamentals of all topics, only then you'll be able to crack questions in mock test.

It is not compulsory to attempt MAT GK section as the score in not considered for percentile calculation but it is not recommended to skip it all together as it may dent your chances in colleges that look at candidates' sectional scores too.

MAT and CMAT both are moderately difficulty exam, but have their own challenges. While, CMAT has one extra section Innovation and Entrepreneurship, MAT has a separate section for Data Interpretation having 30 questions. With focused preparation, you can crack either of the two that you choose.

To crack MAT exam in first attempt, start preparation early; at least a month six months in advance. Cover each topic of the MAT syllabus thoroughly and attempt 40+ mock tests to have complete control on all possible types of questions asked. In the exam, avoid negative marking by skipping questions

MAT scoring is done between 200 to 800, so a nearly 650 or 700 will get you 90 to 95 percentile. A score of 600 is also good as it converts into percentile between 80 to 85.
