Difference Between AIQ vs State Quota in NEET UG
National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted NEET UG and declared the result online. Now, the next process is NEET UG counselling. There are two types of NEET counselling: AIQ counselling and State Quota counselling. They might be similar in functionality but differ in the process.

What is AIQ?
AIQ full form is All India Quota. The 15% (AIQ) seats MBBS / BDS are reserved in state-run government Medical colleges of India. Admission to these seats is done through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NEET UG qualified candidates can also apply for admission to 100% MBBS seats in BHU, AIIMS, JIPMER (Puducherry / Karaikal), AMU, DU/I.P University, Jamia Millia Islamia (BDS), ESIC through MCC. Interested candidates must apply online for MCC NEET UG counselling.
What is State Quota Seat?
State Quota Seats are those seats reserved for the domicile students of a particular state. A total of 85% seats are reserved in government medical colleges and 100% of seats in private medical colleges. The seats in private medical colleges are distributed in three categories (state quota, management quota and NRI quota). The reservation in the government colleges and private colleges will be decided by the State Medical Counselling for MBBS / BDS admission.

Better Option Between AIQ Seats and State Quota
Both options have their own advantages. Candidates who wish to pursue a master's in Medicine from the top-tier medical colleges in India must choose AIQs. They can choose any college from any state of India for admission.
While State Quota seats allow students to secure admission to the top medical college in the particular state. They can not apply for admission to the other state medical colleges. However, a few states might accept admission from non-domicile students. But priority will be given to domicile students, and the seats reserved for other state students will be fewer.
Therefore, both options are best for securing admission. NEET UG rank will also be a major factor in choosing a choosing for MBBS counselling.
