Q:   Are there any optional questions in NEET exam?

No, the NEET exam or NEET question paper does not have any optional questions. Although there used to be 20 optional questions in total in between the years 2022 and 2024, but 2025 onwards, the optional questions in NEET were removed as part of the revision or change in the NEET exam pattern as per the pre-COVID era. Hence, the NEET 2025 question paper will not carry any optional questions, and will have 360 mandatory questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

There are cases where candidates solve the question and deduce the correct option, but make a mistake while filling the OMR sheet by not checking the question number or the answer option carefully. Such mistakes can cause a negative marking of one mark.
