NEET PG exam is approaching soon. It is very common among students to get nervous on exam day. Due to this, they may make mistakes on exam day. NEET PG exam day guidelines will help students to stay positive on exam day. Moreover, candidates will get a quick view of the do's and don'ts for the NEET PG exam 2026.
NEET PG Exam Day Guidelines
NEET PG 2026 exam day guidelines: Candidates appearing for the NEET PG exam 2026 need to follow the exam day guidelines. These guidelines will be mentioned in the NEET PG admit card 2026. The exam day guidelines are instructions to be followed by the candidates who are appearing for the entrance test. The exam day guidelines help them to avoid mistakes on exam day. It also helps in the smooth conduct of the examination. NBEMS will conduct the NEET PG exam on August 30. The exam will be held from 9 AM to 12:30 PM.

NEET PG 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: Before The Exam
Students need to paste a photograph of size 35x45 mm on the admit card. The photo should have a white background and around 75% of the photograph should be covered by the face and head of the students. It should have the student's name and the date on which the photo was taken.
Three things you must carry on the exam day
- Printout of the NEET PG 2026 admit card with a passport-sized photograph pasted on it
- Photocopy of permanent/ provisional MCI/ SMC registration
- An original, valid and non-expired photo Id proof (Driving licence, voter Id, PAN card, Aadhar card, passport, etc)
Things you must not carry on NEET PG 2026 exam day
- Mobile phone or any other electronic device, including wristwatches and calculator
- Stationary items, including pen, pencil, eraser, writing pad, books, etc.
- Ornaments or jewellery
- Packed or home-cooked eatables, soft drinks or water bottle
- Bags, pouches, wallet, cap, belt, etc.
Report to the exam centre on time
Remember that entry inside the exam hall will close at 8:30 am. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall post 8:30 am. Candidates are thus advised to reach the exam centre well in advance as to avoid last-minute hassles.
What happens in the exam centre?
After reporting to the exam centre a candidate has to undergo the following
- Id verification and thumb impression
- Capturing a digital image
- Frisking and other security procedures

Yes. NBE will open final correction window for NEET PG. Candidates can rectify incorrect images uploaded along with NEET PG application form. It must be noted the correction window is opened to rectify incorrect images in the application form. Candidates have to login and rectify images such as photograph, signature, and thumb impression. It is the final opportunity to make changes in NEET PG application form.
No. Candidates can't carry any electronic item such as mobile phone, calculator, bluetooth, earphone to NEET PG centre. Some of the items which are not allowed at NEET PG centre have been enlisted below:
- Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), notes, writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, etc.
- All ornaments like bracelets, Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin
- Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap etc.
- Any eatable items and water bottle are also banned.
No, the NEET PG exam is scheduled for August 30. As per the existing NEET PG pattern, the question paper comprises 200 multiple choice questions and candidates get 3.5 hours to answer them.
NBE will not extend the NEET PG exam date. The exam will be held on August 30, 2026. Candidates must report to the alloted exam cente as per the schedule.

Remember the marking scheme
Candidates appearing for the NEET PG exam must be familiar with the marking scheme. Negative marking is done for the wrong answers. Therefore, avoid the guesswork. You can leave the question if you are not sure about the answer. There is no marking for an unattempted question. Below is the NEET PG exam pattern.

Remain calm and patient when attempting the NEET PG question paper. Haste and panic will only have detrimental effects on your marks. Check all the answers before finally submitting the answer sheet online.

Keep the admit card safe
After the NEET exam is over, keep your hall ticket safe until the admission counselling process is over. Moreover, based on the unofficial answer key, candidates can predict their probable score. The official answer key will be released online after a few days.

Yes. Candidates have to provide prefrences of test cities while filling application form for NEET PG. It is to be noted the city is chosen by candidate himself / herself at the time of online submission of application form, while the allotment of test centre/venue in the chosen city is done by exam authority. NBE will allot the name and address of exact test centre along with the NEET PG admit card.
NEET PG 2026 exam notification is available online. The authority will conduct the NEET PG exam on August 30, 2026. The registration process started on July 1, 2026.

NEET PG 2026 Exam Day Guidelines: Other Important Instructions
- Indian Citizens/OCI who have qualified Foreign Medical Graduate Examination should bring their original FMGE Pass certificate issued on NBE letterhead
- Candidates without any valid ID proof shall not be allowed to enter the examination premises
- Those reporting late or beyond the prescribed time shall not be allowed to appear in the exam under any circumstances
- The reporting counter will close 30 minutes prior to the test start time
- Finger Biometrics of candidates shall be captured at the time of registration for the test at the test venue
- No rough paper for any rough work or pen shall be provided at the centre
- Any suspicious or disruptive behaviour on part of the candidate may lead to the cancellation of candidature

NBEMS has rescheduled NEET PG admit card release date to August 25. Candidates will be informed regarding the availability of the NEET PG hall ticket through email / SMS. They will have to provide the login details to access the admit card online.

According to the past year data, the last round NEET PG closing rank for MD/MS admission at IUL Lucknow ranged between 4097 and 7174 in the year 2025. The most difficult branch to get admission to was MS Ophthalmology and the most-the easiest one was MS in ENT.

Yes, for postgraduate medical courses like MD and MS, colleges accept NEET PG scores. For super-specialty courses, NEET SS is required. MBBS admission, however, is based only on NEET UG.

No. NEET-PG is mandatory for all MD admissions in India across all colleges, government, private, deemed, and central institutions. There is no alternative entrance exam or direct admission route for MD. Even foreign nationals of Indian origin need to qualify in the relevant entrance process.
