IIT Roorkee admissions 2026 are open. A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registration for session 2 has closed for IIT Roorkee admission to BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The GATE 2026 result has been published for admission to the ME/MTech and PhD programmes. The GATE 2026 counselling for round 1 is expected to start from May 11, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 result has been announced for admission to the MSc course. The IIT JAM counselling 2026 will start from Mar 27, 2026.
- The CEED 2026 results for the MDes programme have been released. Students can access and download their scorecard until Jul 31, 2026, by logging in to the official website.

IIT Roorkee placement process 2026 is ongoing and will conclude between April and May, 2026. During the first two days of Phase 1 placements 2026, more than 500 offers were made out of which 8 were international offers. IIT Roorkee has an active Training and Placement department that facilitates all types of placement-related activities. IIT Roorkee offers admission to the Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) programme through the JEE Main entrance exam. The eligibility for IIT Roorkee admission is decided by CSAB/ JoSAA. Currently, the institute has an annual intake of 192 students for the BTech programme. IIT Roorkee admission to its flagship courses BArch and BTech is based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced Counselling. For admission, students are required to apply for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced for admission to IIT Roorkee BTech. The aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) (nta.ac.in).
Followed by JEE Main, students are required to register for JEE Advanced. Next, candidates have to fill in the registration form, upload scanned certificates, and pay the application fee. The photo and signature in the online JEE Advanced application form will already be populated from the JEE Main application form.
The total tuition fees for BSc courses at IIT ranges between INR 8 Lacs to INR 10 Lacs for course duration of four-five years, as per the official website/sanctioning body. It is, however, subject to changes and hence, is indicative. Apart from this tuition fees, the college also charges students for few more components mentioned below.

IIT Roorkee offers a four-year BTech programme across 11 specialisations along with a five-year integrated BTech + MTech programmes across two specialisations. The BTech course is the flagship programme of IIT Roorkee. The selection of candidates for the IIT Roorkee BTech programme is based on their JEE Advanced score. To be eligible for the same, aspirants must have completed their Class 12 with a valid score.
The centralised counselling process is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which the candidates are allotted seats. In order to apply for BTech and Integrated MTech at IIT Roorkee, students are required to apply via JEE Main, followed by JEE Advanced. The process of applying for JEE Mains 2025 consists of three steps: registration, form filling, and document upload, followed by payment of application fees.
In order to be eligible to apply for BSc at IIT Roorkee, candidate must have completed Class 12 with a minimum of 75%. Moreover, interested students must qualify JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced exam. Admissions to IIT Roorkee BSc courses will be made based on merit in JEE Main+ JEE advanced and seat availability intake of IIT Roorkee.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.

IIT Roorkee is not considered very expensive relative to private institutions, but it is costly. The course fees of numerous programs fluctuate from INR 1,000 - 10,70,500, depending on the selected course. But it offers great placement opportunities to its students.
