For 2022, cut off was 61 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. The course outline of mechanical in IIT Delhi or IIT Bombay is similar and is quite well aligned with the course structure of top ranked international universities and the mechanical is one of the most desired and demanded branches in the IITs. The universities stand on similar QS ranking level and the facility and quality of infrastructure on average is almost the same in both the campuses, IITB has a lake, a pretty larger campus than that of IITD whereas IITD stands in a very desired location of Delhi ( in Hauz Khas) which stands very close to the international airport and various railway stations and is comparatively very green and clean than the outer Delhi. IIT Bombay admission to BDes course includes various steps. Starting with registration to entrance exam, counselling and seat allotment. Before jumping to application, candidates must also check their eligibility. Any candidate who have completed Class 12 can apply for BDes course. 

Step 1: Registration

Candidates need to apply online for BDes course with an application fee of INR 3,800 for open and INR 1,900 for reserved category. The common application form will be available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal. 

Step 2: Selection

The selection to BDes course is based on UCEED rank. A merit list is prepared based on UCEED rank of the candidates.

Step 3: Counselling

Once shortlisted, candidates need to register for counselling. The seat are alloted based on the UCEED rank of the candidates. Aspirants must pay the fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

As per IIT Bombay cut off 2023 for JAM 2023 Fourth Admission List, the opening and closing ranks for MSc Applied Geology are 1 and 18, respectively. Also, for MSc Chemistry, the opening and closing ranks stood at 1 and 25, respectively. A minimum of Class 12 is required to apply for BDes course at IIT Bombay. Below is the detailed eligibility:

• Candidates should have been born on or after Oct 1, 1999., if belonging to Open/ EWS/ OBC-NCL Category and on or after October 1, 1994, if belonging to SC, ST or PwD Category.
• Aspirants should have obtained a rank in UCEED. A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
• Candidates need to pass all five subjects in Class 12 or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.

The total tuition fee is inlcusive of admssion fee, examination fee, caution deposit, and charges for many other facilities provided by the institute during the programme. IIT Bombay admission to all the courses is entrance-based (Except for EMBA, where admission is merit-based and performance in the interview round). Yes, JEE Main is required for admission to IIT Bombay's BTech programmes. It is an eligibility requirement for JEE Advanced. Students cannot get admission to IIT Bombay using only the JEE Main score. Aspirants must appear for JEE Advanced and participate in JoSAA counselling for final seat allotment in BTech course.

The placement data regarding PhD placementsat IIT Bombay are currently unavailable. The overall IIT Bombay placement data shows that in 2024, around 683 students were placed. The data claimedthat majority of the students placed were placed in the IT/Software sector.
