- The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit cards for IIT Roorkee admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses are now available for download on the official website for students scheduled to appear from Jan 21 to Jan 24, 2026.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
- For the M.Des programme, the CEED 2026 entrance exam is scheduled for Jan 18, 2026, with results to be announced on Mar 4, 2026.
IIT Roorkee Highlights 2025
IIT Roorkee was established in 1847 and is the seventh IIT recognised as an Institution of National Importance. IIT Roorkee is NAAC accredited and AICTE &UGC approved . IIT Roorkee is a public technical research university located in Uttarakhand. The college is the oldest technical institution in Asia that was given university status in 1949. According to the NIRF ranking 2025, the institute ranked 1 in Architecture category and 6 in Engineering category.
IIT Roorkee course admission is based on the entrance exam. To get admission, the institute accepts entrance exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, IIT JAM, CEED, and NATA. IIT Roorkee Admission Process and Dates 2025
IIT Roorkee offers admission to the Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) programme through the JEE Main entrance exam. The eligibility for IIT Roorkee admission is decided by CSAB/ JoSAA. Currently, the institute has an annual intake of 192 students for the BTech programme. Yes, in order to take admission in IIT Roorkee BSc courses, candidates must first qualify JEE Main. Students who qualify JEE Main are then required to register and appear for JEE Advanced. This exam is conducted by one of the IITs every year by rotation under the supervision of a Joint Admission Board, which comprises of representatives from all the IITs. Aspirants must keep in mind that exam difficulty level cannot be determined by organising body. JEE Advanced paper is not made by one single IIT; but it is prepared by experts from multiple institutes. Difficulty level of exam is independent of the IIT conducting exam.
