CLAT Exam Centres 2027: The Consortium of NLUs will release the list of exam centres along with the CLAT NotificationCandidates must note that they will be able to select the CLAT 2027 exam centre while filling out the CLAT Application Form 2027. The  CLAT 2027 will be conducted in more than 139 cities CLAT test centres in around 89 cities of 25 states and 5 UTs.

On the day of the CLAT 2027 exam, the candidates will have to report to the exam center as per the scheduled time mentioned on the CLAT admit card. Since the exam centre authority does not allow entry to candidates who are late, candidates must ensure that they arrive on time. 

Candidates must note that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) exam will be held in pen-and-paper mode. To ensure that there is no untoward incident on exam day, it is recommended that the candidate visit and check the allotted CLAT exam centre location a day in advance. This will help them to get an understanding of the traffic situation, travel time, travel route, and also the locality.

Q:   Why is it important to choose CLAT exam center?
A: 

While filling the CLAT application form 2026, candidates have to select three CLAT centres.  Based on the preferences added by the candidate, authorities will allot the exam centre based on the choices added. Candidates must select the districts which are near their permanent or present address and easy to commute. It is important for candidates to reach the CLAT exam centre on time to complete the verification process.

Q:   How many CLAT exam centres are there?
A: 

The CLAT 2026 exam will be conducted at over 130 test centres spread across 89 cities in India. These centers cover 25 states and 5 union territories. Candidates can select up to three, or sometimes more, test city preferences during the application process, with the exact number of venues subject to change based on the official notification.

  • Log on to consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Enter mobile number and password.

How to Choose CLAT Exam Centre 2027?

Candidates will be given the option to select three CLAT 2027 test centres at the time of filling the CLAT application form. The selection of exam centers must be in order of priority. This means that the topmost priority of the CLAT 2027 test city should be selected as Test Centre Preference 1 and so on.

Steps to select CLAT Exam Centre 2027

Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to choose CLAT exam centres at the time of filling out the application form:

  1. Log in to your applicant account
  2. Go to "Preferences"
  3. There you have to select THREE preferences (separately) - Test Centre Preference - 1, Test Centre Preference - 2, Test Centre Preference - 3
  4. Use the drop-down to select a test centre for each preference (Opt Preference 1 for your favourite test centre)
  5. Save the changes

Q:   How to make changes in CLAT Admit Card?
A: 

There is no option to make changes in the CLAT admit card. Details printed on the candidate's hall ticket will be final and non-editable. Incase, there is any error in the details mentioned on the CLAT admit card, like name or roll number of the candidate., etc. then that can be rectified by contacting the CLAT help desk.

Q:   What is the CLAT exam duration?
A: 

The CLAT exam duration is two hours for both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate. It will have 120 multiple choice questions. For each correct answer one makrs will be given and -0.25 will be deducted for incorrect ones.

Q:   What is CLAT Exam Timing?
A: 

The Consortium of NLUs conducts the CLAT Exam from 2 pm to 4 pm. The exam is held only in one slot. There are no shifts in CLAT Exam. The exam will be held in pen-and-paper mode.

CLAT 2027 Exam Centre Instructions

Candidates must follow all the important CLAT Exam Day guidelines to avoid any problem. Candidates can check the details below

  • Documents to carry: Do not forget to carry the CLAT admit card along with one valid photo ID proof to the test centre. Candidates not having any of these will not be allowed to give the exam.
  • Reporting at exam centre: The test centre officials allow entry to the examination hall only after they check the admit card and other documents. Therefore, candidates must reach the allotted test centre at least an hour before the exam timings. 
  • Stationery items to carry: Since CLAT is an offline exam, candidates should carry one HB pencil and two pens ideally black/blue colour to the test centre.
  • Avoid taking prohibited items to the exam centre: Candidates should not carry any item which is not allowed in the examination hall including, mobile phones, notes/books/study material, watch, earphones/headphones, sunglass, etc.

Q:   Can the exam centre be changed after the release of CLAT admit card?
A: 

Once the CLAT admit card is released, candidates cannot change their allotted exam centre. There is no provision for altering the test centre at any stage, making it crucial to carefully select test cities when filling out the CLAT application form. It is advisable to choose a city that is either your hometown, a city you are likely to be in on the exam day, or a nearby city where you can reach easily. 

Q:   What are the dos and don'ts for CLAT exam day?
A: 
 On CLAT exam day, candidates have to follow a number of guidelines like cooperating with the exam centre staff during identification process, etc.:

CLAT exam day dos:

  1. Reach examination centre at the reporting time mentioned on your CLAT admit card.
  2. Carry two copies of the CLAT admit card, one photo ID card, passport size photos
  3. PwD candidates should carry relevant certificates and documents. 
  4. Carry a blue/black ball point pen for signing attendance sheet 

CLAT exam day don'ts:

  1. Do not carry items such as bags, purses, pencil box, beepers, wrist watch, calculators, mobile phones, electronic devices, scanners, cameras, wireless/Bluetooth transmission or any such communication devices.
  2. Don't wear closed shoes, jewellery made of metal, jackets, clothes with pockets, mehendi on palms. Socks are allowed inside it.
  3. Don't wear caps, hoodies or jackets/shirts with pockets 
  4. Don't be late for exam. Entry gates will be closed 15 minutes before the commencement of exam. 
Q:   Will Consortium send CLAT Admit Card via post?
A: 

No, the Consortium does not send the CLAT admit card by post and candidates have to download it online. Students who will appear for CLAT must download the admit card online as soon as it is released and not delay it until the last moment. Candidates are advised to take multiple printouts and check the details printed on the CLAT admit card carefully.

Q:   Can I clear CLAT Exam in first attempt?
A: 

Yes it is very much possible to clear the CLAT Exam in first go. You just need to be consistent and prepare well. Candidates must include attempting mock test and solving past years question paper in their study plan.

Q:   Can I get admission in NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam?
A: 

No you can not get admission to 26 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam. 

Q:   Should the CLAT admit card printout be coloured or black and white?
A: 

Candidates should try and take a coloured printout of the admit card. But it is not compulsory. They must make sure that they have two to three spare copies of the admit card for future use. However, in case a candidate does not have access to a coloured printer, she/he can take a black and white printout. In any case the photograph on CLAT Admit Card should be clear. 

Q:   What to carry on the CLAT Exam day?
A: 

Apart from the CLATAdmit Card,  candidates must carry the following documents to the exam centre:

  • Passport-sized photograph (same as the one uploaded with the application form)
  • A valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card/ Driving Licence/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Voter ID)
  • Transparent water bottle

No. Since IIULER has officially joined the Consortium of NLUs, it no longer conducts a separate entrance test for admission to IIULER BA LLB (Hons.) course. Admission is strictly based on the CLAT (UG) merit list. If you miss the CLAT window, you generally cannot apply for that academic year.
