The basic eligibility for admission to M.A Mass Communication program is a Bachelor or equivalent degree in any stream. Though it is not compulsory to have a Bachelor degree in Journalism or Mass communication, it certainly gives an edge. There is no restriction with respect to the stream of education in graduation. So, yes you can pursue MA in Mass Comm after BCom. The course is of 2 years duration. The tuition fee for the program ranges from INR 50,000 to INR 3 Lakh for two years.
No, it is not necessary for students to have studied the Humanities stream to pursue the BMM programme. Students with good verbal and written communication skills, an interest in the field of news and events, critical and analytical bent of mind are all that need to be suitable for studying BMM. Candidates' performance on the admission exam determines whether they will be accepted into one of India's top BMM universities. To be admitted to the BMM programme, applicants must successfully pass the entrance exams provided by the universities.
As per the eligibility criteria for admission in BMM programme, students should pass Class 12 with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate. Some colleges have specific eligibility criteria and admission criteria that candidates should fulfil. The application will be deemed to be rejected if the individual does not meet the requirements.
Candidates must have completed their graduation in any subject with at least 50% marks to pursue MA in Mass Communication & Media course. It just mean a study of all the mediums that are used for communication. How we use them? Why they are important? What new or innovations have been introduced in communication system or patterns etc.
You will learn a best trick to communicate with wide audience. It's history, why communication is useful. Why and how it's used in business communication?
Whereas journalism would teach you to be a good journalist. A person who is jack of all trades. Means you should have a tight grip over your thoughts, language, knowledge and alertness. It helps you to make a punctual and good journalist. In both the cases language is important.
