NEET Result 2025 News and Updates

The Madhya Pradesh High Court will hear the plea concerning the NEET UG 2025 results issue today, May 26, 2025. This comes after a significant hearing on May 22, during which the National Testing Agency (NTA) stated its viewpoint. The dispute is concerning whether students who were affected by power failures at exam centres in Indore and Ujjain should be allowed to give a retest or receive any other relief.

During the previous hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the NTA, notified the court that a special committee will be constituted to investigate grievances from 24 exam centres in Indore. The panel will decide whether a re-exam is required or if additional steps can be taken towards helping the impacted students

Advocate Mridul Bhatnagar, who represents the students, stated that around sixty applications had been submitted from the Indore and Ujjain districts of Madhya Pradesh, highlighting the discrepancies in the examination.

He stated that in Indore, a power outage lasting about two hours disrupted the exam, while in Ujjain, electricity was unavailable for around 40 to 45 minutes, causing disruption at the centres. Bhatnagar stated that students who encountered these obstacles should be given an adequate opportunity to retake the exam without any technical difficulties.

NEET Result Hearing 2025: Relief or Uncertainty? MP High Court to Decide Today

While NTA accepted that several exam centres faced power failure between 10 minutes to over an hour, the examination was conducted smoothly. NTA is expected to submit its recommendation, including the possibility of re-examination, by May 26, 2025.

Previously, the court permitted NTA to release the NEET UG result 2025 for unaffected areas, withholding students from 11 disputed centres. However, the number of affected students has now grown to 24 centres.
