Overview

IIT JAM 2026 registration process is over. The application form for JAM 2026 was available online at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. Candidates were able to apply for the Joint Admission Tests for Masters (JAM) from September 5 to October 20, 2025. They had to check the IIT JAM eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The process involved to fill JAM application form are registration, form filling, document upload, and payment of application fees.

The form correction portal was active from October 31 to November 13, 2026. IIT JAM exam was conducted on February 15, 2026. Candidates can check the page for information regarding form filling, documents required, important instructions, and application fees.

How to Fill IIT JAM Application Form 2026?

Before you start filling JAM form, generate an enrollment id and password. This can be done by registering at JOAPS Portal. For new registration details required are name, email id, mobile number and password. Enrollment id is sent to the registered number and email id after registration.

  • Form Filling:
Use the enrolment id and password to fill IIT JAM form through the JOAPS portal. In the form, you have to provide exam details, personal information, address, and education qualification.
  • Uploading Documents:
You have to upload high quality photograph and signature in prescribed format and size. Reserved category has to upload the category (OBC-NCL/EWS/SC/ST) certificate (if applicable). Aslo, a scanned copy of Physical Disability Certificate and Unique Disability Identification (UDID) number is required.
  • Application Fee:

The final stage is to pay the application fee. The payment is accepted online through net banking / debit card / credit card / UPI. No other mode is accepted for the payment of IIT JAM application fee.

The authority has released the IIT JAM eligibility criteria 2026 online. The eligibility criteria is the minimum condition to appear for the entrance test. Students who had completed their bachelor's degree with in a relevant subject from a recognized college or university could apply for IT JAM exam 2026. online. Documents Required for IIT JAM 2026 Application Form

  • The photograph should be in colour and taken against a white or very light-coloured background

Signature Specifications

The following table brings the requisite file size and format specification for the candidate signature to be uploaded on IIT JAM 2026 application form.

IIT JAM 2026 examination was conducted on February 15, 2026. The exam was conducted in two sessions:

 Session 1 -  9:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Q:   Are their any scribes arranged by the examination authority for IIT JAM 2026 examination?
A: 

Scribes were arranged for those PwD candidates who had requested to be provided with a scribe at the time of application.
Qualification of the scribe arranged by test centre will NOT be more than the minimum eligibility criteria of JAM 2026. However, the qualification of the scribe is be matriculation (10th) or above. If there are Y candidates who require a scribe, it will be ensured that a panel of (Y+1) scribes is available at the exam centre so that every candidate can have an alternative scribe to choose for the services.

There are around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 21 IITs for the academic year 2026-27. Admissions are based on JAM 2026 scores, subject to satisfying the ERs and MEQs and any other requirements, without any additional interview or written test.
JAM scores are used for admission to over 2000 seats for postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc. and M.A. at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralized Counselling for M.Sc / M.Sc. (Tech.) Admission (CCMN).
