IIT JAM 2020 Exam Analysis: Check Subject Wise Paper Analysis

IIT JAM 2020 was conducted by IIT Kanpur on February 9 in two sessions. JAM Session-I was held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM for Biotechnology (BT), Physics (PH) and Mathematical Statistics (MS) papers and Session-II was from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM for Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA) papers.

Most of the students who have IIT JAM 2020 shared that the exam was comparatively easier, this year. Students shared that the overall difficulty level of the questions asked was average.

Subject-wise IIT JAM analysis is such that the Mathematics paper was lengthy and tricky. The difficulty level of the Chemistry paper was also high. On the other hand, questions asked in the Physics, Biotechnology, Geology and Mathematical Statistics paper was similar to last year’s entrance exam.

IIT JAM question paper comprises 60 questions for 100 marks. The question paper has three sections. Section A has 30 multiple-choice questions. There are 10 multiple select questions in Section B. Section C has 20 numerical answer-type questions.  Negative marking is done for Section A.

IIT Bombay released the response sheet for IIT JAM 2026 on February 18, 2026. Students have to access the JOAPS portal to download IIT JAM 2026 response sheet.

IIT Bombay has released the answer key for all seven papers. Students who appeared for IIT JAM exam must download the answer key for their respective test paper.

IIT Bombay released the IIT JAM 2026 answer key for Physics online. Students can use the answer key pdf to verify their answers and calculate the probable score.

The authority shall release the IIT JAM question paper along with the answer key. The question paper will be available for all seven test papers. Students preparing for the upcoming session can use the question paper for preparation.

IIT JAM admit card download link is updated on the website,  jam2026.iitb.ac.in. Students can download the admit card through JOAPS portal. An email id and password is the credentials to download JAM admit card 2026.

The last date to apply for IIT JAM 2026 was October 20, 2025. JAM registration link was available on the webste, jam2026.iitb.ac.in. Passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognised board could apply online.
