  • Prepare a timetable, keeping an equal time slot for each paper. Also, keep a time slot for solving AHSEC sample papers and previous years’ question papers. 
  • Download the Assam HS time table 2026 after it is released and paste it near your study table to avoid missing the important dates.

Q:   Is there any negative marking scheme in AHSEC HS Board exams 2026?
A: 

No, there is no negative marking scheme for the AHSEC HS exams. The board will not deduct marks for incorrect/wrong answers in the final Assam 12th exams. In objective section, one mark is given for each correct answers while no marks are deducted for wrong answers. Hence, the students must attempt all the questions in the final Assam Board HS exams.

In AHSEC HS exams, there are a total of five subject including 2 language papers. For most papers, the students are given a maximum of 100 marks in theory papers. On the other hand, for a few papers like Physicis, Chemistry, Social Science, a total of 70 marks are given while 30 marks for practicals. Each theory paper is divided into sections that include multiple-choice questions, short answers, and long answers.

Q:   What is the AHSEC HS pattern for the final exams 2026?

Both theoretical and practical exams are held to check student's knowledge in the papers in the AHSEC HS exams. There are a total of five subjects in Assam HS exams and each paper contan a total of 100 marks. A few papers inclucing Physicis, Chemistry, Social Science have both theory and practical exams. 70 marks are allocated in theory and a total of 30 marks are given in practicals. Theory papers include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), short-answer questions, and long-answer question.

AHSEC released the Assam HS sample/model papers 2025-26 for the students. The board also released the previous year's Assam HS question papers. The students must download the Assam Board 12th model papers and past year's question papers from the board's website and practice them. The board will release the Assam HS compartment routine 2026 after the declaration of final AHSEC HS result 2026. It is expected to be announced in May 2026. As soon as it gets announced, we will update the same here.

Shiksha.com reached out to many students ho took the Assam HS exams in 2026. As per various students, Mathematics was the toghest paper in AHSEC 12th exams. Many students also found Physics a tough paper.

No, the state education board does not release the Assam HS answer key for the objective type questions. However, many private institutes and portals releases the answer key for the ibjective type questions asked in the final Assam 12th exams.

A good score in Assam Board HS exam is considered to above 75 percet. Students with above 75% can apply for admission to any programme offered at top institutes/colleges in India. Marks above 85 per cent can be included excellent.
