It is to be mentioned here that the Class 12 students from the state are required to appear for five subjects. "We urge all the students to be prepared for the exams as they will be conducted as soon as we get a green signal from the government," the minister added.

In AHSEC HS exams, both theoretical and practical exams are held to check student's knowledge in the papers. There are a total of five subjects in Assam HS exams and each paper contan a total of 100 marks. However, a few papers such as Physicis, CHemistry, SOcial Science have both theory and practical exams. For theory exams, 70 marks are allocated while for practical exams, a total of 30 marks are distributed. Theory paper include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), short-answer questions, and long-answer question.
In AHSEC HS exams, there are a total of five subject including 2 language papers. For most papers, the students are given a maximum of 100 marks in theory papers. On the other hand, for a few papers like Physicis, Chemistry, Social Science, a total of 70 marks are given while 30 marks for practicals. Each theory paper is divided into sections that include multiple-choice questions, short answers, and long answers.

Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) released the Assam HS routine 2026. The AHSEC Class 12 exams 2026 will be conducted from Februqary 11 to March 16, 2026. Assam Higher Secondary Board exams are held in two shifts. The first shift exams is held from 9 am to 12 pm and the second shift exams from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The Assam HS examination will commence with English paper and concluded with Advanced Sanskrit papers.
In Assam HS examination, over 2.5 Lacs students participate every year. Out of which, more than 80% of students clear the exam. In 2024, 2,73,908 appeared for the AHSEC HS exam. Out of which, 2,42,794 students passed in the exams. The overall pass percentage for Assam class 12 exams stood at 88.64%.
In 2023, 84.96% of students managed to clear the Assam Board 12th exam. In the Science stream, the pass percentage stood at 84.96% while in commerce, 79.57% of students declared passed. Assam HS Exams 2026 is conducted in offline mode. The students write the exam paper using pen and paper. Every year, the board announces the final exam pattern along with the HS final routine 2026.
