1. Measuring Study Time by the Number of Hours

More study hours do not guarantee better preparation. The time spent studying qualitatively matters far more than the quantity. If students want a good rank in JEE Main, they first need to make realistic targets for every day. Completing daily targets will motivate students and make their study sessions more purposeful.

2. Keeping Chemistry Aside

Most of the students feel that chemistry is boring especially inorganic and some parts of organic. However, this attitude will lower the score of students in the JEE Main. Chemistry can be a scoring section and it can be solved tentatively in around forty minutes or even lesser. This will give students more time for the other sections. So, candidates should never ignore this subject while preparing for JEE Main.

Students are familiar with various reference books, but they should never neglect the NCERT textbooks. These books will give help aspirants cover the entire JEE Main syllabus in simple terms. Candidates should never hesitate to open and refer to the NCERT textbooks. Students must keep in mind that the NTA will never cross the boundaries of the syllabus beyond NCERT books.

4. Working More on Already Prepared Topics

Candidates must never limit their preparation to the already well-prepared topics. Students must remember that the JEE Main paper will not include questions only from those topics. One should focus on all the topics along with the important ones. This is the same for all the subjects.

5. Keeping the Doubts Alive

Try not to have any doubts about any topics at this phase of your preparations, it will only increase students’ stress. Try to solve any doubt as early as possible. Aspirants should never hesitate their doubts even in the last days.

6. Ignoring Revision

The success in entrance examinations like JEE Main depends mostly on a candidates approach towards preparation during a few days before the exam. However, last days of your preparation must include revisions and mock tests. It is good to practice as many questions as possible during the last days, but it should not revisions. Students must revise whatever they have studied in the last year.

7. Referring New Study Material

All the experts and toppers suggest that students should never read any new study material in the last days of their preparations. It is good if candidates have started referring to new study materials and books at an early stage, but not during the last days. Reading new study material will just increase your anxiety on exam day.

Yes — at Chandigarh University (CU), it is possible to get a scholarship for B.Tech/B.E. (including CSE with specialisations like AI & ML / “IBM‑program” etc.) based on your JEE Main performance — but only under certain conditions and only for a small fraction of seats.
