The number of attempts in JEE Main 2022 will depend on COVID-19 conditions and the schedule of board exams.

The application form of JEE Main 2022 for the second session is about to begin anytime soon now. The National Testing Agency will conduct JEE Main 2022 exam in two attempts this year. The first attempt will be held in June and the second attempt in July. JEE Main 2022 exam date for the first attempt is June 20 to 29 while the second attempt date is July 21 to 30.

Many students strongly opposed the decrease in the number of attempts in JEE Main 2022 from four to two. However, NTA has informed that the number of attempts has been reduced to bring back the normalcy in JEE Main.

Will the third wave of COVID-19 affect JEE Main 2022 exams?
The world is witnessing Omnicron, a newly evolved variant of the COVID-19 virus. There are also speculations that a new wave might come. If the new wave of Coronavirus does come, there are chances that the exams might be delayed.

Q:   Can I apply for JEE Main 2024 if I have less than 75% marks in class 12?
A:

Candidates can apply for JEE Mains 2024 irrespective of their class 12 marks. It is to be understood that 75% marks is NOT mandatory to appear in JEE Main. As per the official brochure released by the NTA there is no minimum percentage required for appearing in the JEE Main. The requirement of 75 percent marks need not be associated with JEE Main. It is to be understood that 75 percent marks is required for admission to institutes which include NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs. There are many institutes which offer admission on 60% and even less along with JEE Main. Candidates must clearly understand that the requirement of 75 percent marks in class 12 is only for taking admission in the institutes.

Q:   Will NTA remove 75% criteria in 2024?
A:

The JEE Main eligibility criteria of minimum 75% marks in class 12 is required at the time of admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates must note that there in no minimum requirement of 75% marks in class for appearing in JEE Mains. Candidates can apply and appear in JEE Mains 2024 irrespective of their class 12 marks. Candidates are advised to check the detailed eligibility criteria before filling the JEE Main application form 2024.

Q:   What is the official website to apply for JEE Main 2026?
A:

The official website to apply for JEE Main 2026 is jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA has released the JEE Main application form 2026 session 1. Candidates can fill the form online from the website. Details regarding JEE Main application fee, documents required to fill the form, how to apply and other important details related to application process is available on this page. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 application form will be available in January last week, 2026.

Will 75% marks in class 12 be waived off for JEE Main 2022?
The criteria of 75% marks in class 12 have been waived off for this year too. It was also waived off for the years 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates must note that this criterion of marks in class 12 is meant only for admission in institutes and not for appearing in JEE Main.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. Q:   How many minimum marks are required to clear JEE Mains?
A:
The minimum marks required to clear JEE Mains depends on your category. If you are an SC candidate then your cut off is 48, for ST candidate your cut off will be 56, for OBC candidate the cutoff will be 72 and for OC candidate it is 100. This is based on the year wise analysis. This needs not to be same every year. But the variation will not be very large, it just varies by 2-3 marks.
