MET 2026 Seat Allotment: How are candidates selected for admission?
During MET counselling, candidates have to submit their MET scores and 12th standard marks. MET 2026 merit list is prepared by giving 50:50 weightage to both MET scores and 12th board exam marks. If both exam phases have been attempted, the best score will be considered for admission. Candidates can check their ranks obtained through MET 2026 rank card.
What after MET seat allotment 2026?
After allotment, candidates will have to confirm their admission by paying 1st instalment fee online. The required fee has to be paid through net banking/credit card/debit card. MET 2026 instalment fee has to be paid before final date. Next, candidates will have to pay 2nd instalment fee. If the fee is not paid before last date, then their admissions will be cancelled.

MET 2026 Intra Institute Sliding
After all rounds of MET 2026 counselling are held, the authorities may conduct intra-institute sliding in the respective institutes. This will be open only for those candidates who have physically reported to the allotted institute and have started attending the classes in the allotted institute.
- In intra-institute sliding, upgradation is possible only within the institute, and there is no possibility of movement across the campus.
- The Intra Institute Sliding process (if any) will be communicated by the Admissions office of the respective institutes.
- Interested candidates will have to register for intra-institute sliding at the respective institute and submit a fresh set of choices.
- Allotment will be as per MET 2026 rank, vacancy and choices submitted.

The authorities will prepare the MET merit list to select students for admissions into the courses offered by the participating institutes. The performance of the students will be assessed to prepare the MET merit list. Separate merit lists will be prepared for different categories.
The MET counselling fee is INR 10,000. The students have to pay the MET counselling fee online, i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card. If the students are selected for admission, the counselling fee will be adjusted with their tuition fee.
MET is an annual exam conducted in two sessions to select students for BTech admissions into its participating campuses. Students have to qualify the entrance exam to be eligible for admissions. One or both sessions of the entrance exam can be attempted.
MET exam pattern is released online. Students will have to complete MET question paper in 2 hours. No extra time will be given to complete exam. Students have to answer 60 questions in exam.

During MET slot booking, students have to book preferred exam slots. To book slots, they will have to log in with required details. Selection of exam slots has to be done according to preference.
MET slot booking will be open online. If students forget to book exam slots before final date, then their slot will be automatically assigned by authorities. They cannot change their exam slots, once it is allotted.
