Don’t let one low or unsatisfactory score define your abilities. It’s just a minor setback, nothing else.
If you are planning to take a drop and attempt WBJEE Mains again next year, then you should think and consider some points or aspects of it. If you are having enough confidence that you will surely be able to crack WBJEE Mains in another attempt then go for it. There are also many students, who score low in the first attempt but are able to crack the exam in the second attempt. However, for the next attempt, you need to increase your efforts, hard work, etc., in order to score effectively. You need to find your mistakes and faults in your WBJEE Main preparations and correct those mistakes in order to get a better score in the next attempt. If you will work as same as in the first attempt then your score will not improve.
And if you are not ready for the first option or if you don’t have enough time in hand to take the next attempt, then go for admissions based on your first attempt score. Remember your skills matter more than the college you study in.
Explore colleges based on WBJEE
Apart from WBJEE Main, there are various other exams that can lead you to better institutes. These include:
- Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main)
- Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)
- Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE)
- SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (SRMEEE)
- Manipal University Entrance Test (MUOET)
- University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES)
- Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK)
- Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test (SNUSAT)
Appearing in these exams and scoring well, one can get admission to colleges which are also among the good engineering institutes in India. Apart from this, if you have a good score or percentage in state boards, you can take admission in a state’s best engineering institutes.
Don’t compare yourself with anybody. If you are doing this then you are insulting yourself. And remember top and quality engineers are not only produced in premier institutes. If you study well, work hard and acquire good skills then no one can stop you to become a successful quality engineer. Colleges or institutes are just a medium which provides you with different curriculum. So college doesn’t matter much but the thing which matters the most is your skills and expertise in your particular work area or field.
Now decide wisely, whether to take a drop or opt for other entrance exams. Take your time for decision and consider all the aspects and outputs of your decision.

Overall, WBJEE is considered moderately tough. Level of syllabus is similar to 12th standard qualifying exam. Therefore, students who are well prepared for their board exams are likely to score well in WBJEE.

No, there is no provision for conducting WBJEE twice a year. WBJEEB has always conducted WBJEE as an annual one day examination. If there is any change in exam pattern, it will be announced online.
