CLAT 2026 Third Merit List will be published tomorrow, i.e., February 5, 2026. The Consortium announced the dates in a CLAT Notification 2026The CLAT Counselling Process is completely online. Candidates will be able to check the CLAT Merit List 2026 by visiting consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates who opted for the float option during second round will be able participate in CLAT Third Seat Allotment Process.

The CLAT Third Merit List will be released in PDF format. CLAT Fourth Allotment List 2026 will be published on May 2, 2026. CLAT 2026 exam was conducted for admission to 25 NLUs across the country.  Applicants can check here important dates like answer key, objection window, result, counselling and other important dates here.

CLAT 2026 Counselling Date

Candidates who qualify for the CLAT exam will participate in the CLAT Counselling process for admission to their desired NLU. The counselling and seat allotment process will be conducted online. The Consortium of NLUs has released the schedule for the counselling through a separate notification. Based on the scores of the candidates in the CLAT exam, the merit list will be prepared. 

How to Register for the CLAT counselling?

  • Login to the registered accounts
  • Update NLU preferences
  • Pay CLAT counselling fee

Shortlisted candidates will then have to check the CLAT seat allotment result. The selected aspirants will have the option to Accept their allotment or Upgrade, if they want admission to another NLU.

A: 

The CLAT cutoff means the minimum rank or score required to get admission into a National Law University (NLU). Candidates must get the cutoff to participate in the counselling process.

CLAT 2026 Application Form Date

The Consortium began the CLAT Registration 2026 on August 1, 2025. The CLAT Application Form 2026 was made avaiable on consortiumofnlus.ac.in.  The application process is common for 5-year integrated and 1-year LLM programs. The minimum CLAT eligibility criteria 2026 for admission to the 5-year law program was 10+2 pass with a minimum of 45 per cent marks. For LLM program, the minimum requirement is a 3-year or 5-year LLB pass with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. Relaxation in minimum marks applies to SC/ST candidates. The CLAT 2026 application fee is INR 4,000 for general and unreserved candidates. Whereas, the registration fee for SC, and ST candidates is INR 3,500.

CLAT 2026 Admit Card Date

The Consortium has released the CLAT 2026 Admit Card. Only those candidates who have filled the CLAT Application Form properly are issued the Hall Ticket 2026. The Admit Card of CLAT can be accessed by entering their login details i.e. mobile number and password. The CLAT Admit Card contains details such as the candidate's name, date of birth, roll number, exam date, time and centre location. The CLAT 2026 admit card will be a mandatory document for candidates to gain entry inside the allotted exam centre. 

CLAT 2026 Exam Date

CLAT Exam was held in pen and paper mode. The offline-based exam was conducted in 140 CLAT examination centres across the nation. Candidates must note that question paper for UG courses carried total 120 passage-based objective-type questions from five subjects - English Language, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Current Affairs including GK and Quantitative Techniques. CLAT 2026 Answer Key

CLAT provisional answer key 2026 was released first on December 10, 2025. Through answer key, candidates can cross-check their responses marked against each question in the examination. Candidates who have any objection to the given answer to any question could challenge the CLAT provisional answer key 2026 in online mode. Once the consortium received the objections, the Final Answer Key was released.

CLAT 2026 Result 

The Consortium will declare the CLAT result based on the final Answer Key. The result will be  announced in online mode on the official website of the law entrance exam. The result will be released in the form of a scorecard in PDF format. Candidates can download their CLAT scorecard by logging in using their application number and password/date of birth. The result and scorecard contain important details about the candidates such as their name, roll number, application number, category, total score obtained, section-wise score obtained, exam qualifying status, All India Rank (AIR) and category rank. 

CLAT 2026 Counselling

Counselling and seat allotment is the final stage of CLAT admission process, wherein all candidates who qualify for the law entrance exam will be able to participate in CLAT counselling. The counselling and seat allotment process will be centralised and completely online. Through counselling, candidates are allotted seats in respective courses and NLUs based on merit. The counselling process includes the following steps:

  • Registration
  • Seat allotment and acceptance
  • Completion of admission formalities

Q:   Can I fill CLAT Application Form offline?
A: 

No, there is no such provision given by the Consortium to fill out the application form offline. Candidates must complete filling the CLAT Application Form 2027 on or before the last date. You can only fill out the application form online. The form will be considered submitted only if you pay the fees.

Q:   Can I fill CLAT Application Form through mobile phone?
A: 

See, it doesn't matter that you fill the form through laptop or phone. What matters is you fill the form. Yes, you should have good network connection and internet speed. It should not happen that you have filled the form and when you reach the last step you loose the connection. So what is important is network connection not the phone or laptop to fill the application form.

CLAT 2026 Result Date

The Consortium has published the CLAT Result 2026.  The CLAT Scorecard is now avaiable on the CLAT 2026 portal; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. 

How to Check CLAT 2026 Result?

The result for the CLAT exam can be checked through these steps

  • Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Login using the Registration Number and Password 
  • Under Result tab, click on the View Score Card tab.
  • Your result/ scorecard will be displayed on the screen
  • Download and take a printout of result PDF to refer it at the time of counselling registration, and seat allotment process.

To check the CLAT Result, candidates must note that there is only one website. CLAT Result can be checked on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT Scorecard was released on the same website.

A: 

No, the CLAT Scorecard will not be sent by post. The only way to get the scorecard is to download it online. Candidates can visit CLAT portal; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Enter their login ID and password. The CLAT Result will appear on their screen.

CLAT 2026 Answer Key DATE

The Consortium has released the CLAT Final Answer Key 2026 PDF. The Consortium releases the Answer Key in two phases: First Provisional and Later Final Answer Key. The CLAT 2026 Final Answer Key has been released based on the objections received on the provisional answer key.

The Consortium has not announced the last date to submit the CLAT Application Form yet. However, once the application process starts it mostly remain opens for three months. This gives candidates sufficient time to complete it and submit.

Q:   What is CLAT Invite List?

The Consortium of NLUs publish the CLAT Invite List that will carry important details like roll number of the candidates who have scored high enough to be shortlisted the counselling process, their total marks and other details. With this candidates will be able to register for seat allotment in National Law Universities (NLUs) for UG and PG programs.

Q:   CLAT 2026 Counselling Process is online or offline?

The CLAT Counselling Process is completely online. Candidates need to register first by uploading their documents, and participate in choice filling and seat allotment. For original document verification aspirants will have to go to thedesignated centres. 

Q:   What if I am not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment?
A: 

If the candidates is not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment result, they can either accept or opt for upgradingt the college alloted. The Freeze option is used by candidates to confirm their choice of NLU. Apply for upgrade option is used when candidates want to change the allotted institute to his or her higher choice (upward shifting).

Freeze option in CLAT Counselling means accept the NLU seat, lock it, and opt-out of the upgrade process. In this case, the fee becomes non-refundable and has to be paid before the last date. The candidate is removed from the counseling process for future rounds.

Yes, the CLAT counselling fee is refundable if no seat is allotted or if a student withdraws before the final date. A penalty of INR 5,000 may be applied if a seat is frozen and later withdrawn after May 30th.

There will be a total of 5 rounds for CLAT 2026. Students who make it to the merit list and who receive an invitation via email/SMS can register and pay the counselling fee. Students have to pay a fee of INR 30,000 for General and INR 20,000 for ST/SC/OBC/BC/EWS/PwD, for CLAT examination.
