Before saying anything, let me tell you my story. After completing my BBA, I was called for an interview from toppr.com (education-based company). I went to their office in Chandigarh with my resume. Their HR told me that I was too young for the post and was not upto the mark.
There were many candidates who had done their MBA and held some experience. So, she directly rejected me. At that moment, I was thinking that why didn’t they mention job description, specification and qualification required beforehand? The package was around six lakhs per annum. At that time, I was searching for jobs badly. In my opinion, it was not a valid reason. I was having only that much amount of money from which I could return to my PG which was in Shimla.
Explore colleges based on CAT
I didn’t inform my parents that they rejected me. I spent my whole day there and didn’t want to return to Shimla with empty hands. Unfortunately, controlling my emotional face and with the hunger for food, I boarded a bus and returned to Shimla. I was very much disturbed mentally but took that in a positive manner. After that incident, I decided that one day I will be at that position from where no one will dare to reject me. I promised myself to build a resume where my resume would fall short but my achievements and qualifications will not fall short.
I achieved that by almost 80 percent. Right now I am studying MBA and I am 100 percent sure that I will complete my target before completing my course. A big thank you to Shiksha.com and my university Lovely Professional University, both are helping me in grooming myself.
Both are giving me a platform to showcase my knowledge and skills. LPU helped me in grabbing the internships, workshops, live projects such as working in NABARD. Apart from this, Shiksha.com is helping me showcasing my skills in digital marketing, mentorships, campus representative and many more. Without all these, I was unable to convey my ideas in different formats.
Now, coming to the point, if your exam doesn’t go well then there is no need to worry. If you failed one time then it doesn’t determine your career. You still have many chances to prove yourself. Just try hard, if you are planning well for the second attempt then come with proper planning and go ahead with a new start.
There are several things that you should consider after one failure:
- Don’t get emotional after the first failure.
- If you are planning for the second attempt then create a suitable timetable.
- Search for the substitute means such as some other college’s exams.
- Always follow your mind otherwise you will get confused.
- Don’t get depressed from the peers.
- Follow a proper diet.
- Don’t study hard, study
One important advice that I have to tell is to create a list of colleges that are providing the same courses with fewer marks. You can go for interviews if you are capable and you can easily qualify. Apart from this, the thing that matters is what you studied. Your college is somehow going to decide how your career will be but not too much. Choose your career wisely.
