Eventually, it’s just a test so do not consider it as the end since one test cannot decide your caliber.
It would surely be a huge relief once the CAT is over. After leaving the exam hall, leave from that environment as soon as possible since you might find the fellow candidates discussing the test at that time. Upon knowing your shortcomings, it might demoralize you hence better reach home and have a much-deserved sound sleep.
Once you wake up, check out the detailed analysis of the overall test from reliable sources on the internet, coaching classes and from your peers. Know well where exactly you scored more and where did you not. Do not feel too disheartened upon realizing your shortcomings; a bad day can happen to even the most sincere of the aspirants out there! Make a detailed note of both the major and minor errors that happened in those three hours.

Later in the day, spend some quality time with your parents and friends who would help you in unwinding nicely. It is also something you surely deserve after missing out during your preparation phase.
Keep realistic expectations from your eventual result, since it won’t hurt you a lot just in case the result doesn’t turn out as per your wish. Eventually, it’s just a test so do not consider it as the end since one test cannot decide your caliber. There are still more exams to follow such as SNAP (which would be in December itself). Do not let your performance in the CAT affect your other test(s) in which you have comparatively better chances of scoring higher.
Over the next couple of days, keep abreast of the basic concepts and the list of mistakes you committed in the mock tests as well as in CAT. This will help immensely you in not repeating them in the forthcoming exams such as SNAP, NMAT, XAT, CMAT, etc.
Since you have already appeared for a highly intense exam like CAT, you will be devoid of all exam-related nerves. This would come in handy in your immediate forthcoming tests such as NMAT and SNAP wherein you could score much better due to its comparatively lower difficulty level as compared to the CAT.
As the upcoming exams would involve a different exam-taking strategy as compared to the CAT, it is advised to start giving mock tests sooner than later. As there is a significant time window till SNAP, solving 2-3 mocks per week (with thorough analysis) would be an ideal strategy. The aforementioned approach applies for SNAP as well, once you are done with the exam.
If you have put in the required efforts during your preparation, you are bound to score well in the CAT. Until the results are declared, be and think positive about the outcome. If you are destined to get a great score in CAT, you will surely get it. Even if not, you are destined to get a great score in some other exam. Never lose hope!
