The Federation of Residents Doctors’ Association(FORDA) has written to Union Health Secretary, requesting to expedite the conduction of NEET PG 2021 exam. “As a repercussion of this happening, the final year residents are serving a seemingly indefinite extension of their tenure. Delay in conduction of NEET PG 2021 exam is causing misery to the academic career of the aspirants as well as residents serving the tenure extension,” the letter dated July 3, 2021, stated.
As a result of the delay in the exam, the medical institutions across the country are falling short of manpower. These exams were earlier expected to take place in January 2021, however, due to the second wave of Covid-19, the examinations were postponed indefinitely, the letter further stated.
Earlier in April when many exams including NEET PG were postponed, the National Medical Commission had issued an advisory where all PG students were asked to continue their service as residents doctors till fresh batches join. On May 3, the government had announced that NEET PG 2021 exam will be postponed for at least 4 months. The NEET PG 2021 exam will not be held before August 31, 2021, the official notification had said. The decision was taken to ensure the availability of enough medical personnel to tackle the rising number of covid cases at that time.
Through various social media platforms, aspirants of NEET PG have been requesting NBE, the exam conducting body, to prepone the exam to early August. They fear that corona cases may rise again if the exam is conducted in the month of September or October. NEET PG 2021 application process has already been conducted. Candidates are advised to keep a track of NEET PG 2021 dates so that they don't miss any important events related to the exam.
