NEET(National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2017 was conducted in the offline mode on May 7 at 104 test cities across India. The exam was taken by more than 11 lakh candidates for admissions to 95,000 seats (65,000 MBBS and 25,000 BDS) offered by medical colleges in the country. NEET(UG) is not used for admissions to AIIMS and JIPMER.

According to experts, the paper this year was similar to 2016. The exam had a total of 180 questions spread across 4 sections - Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each question was of marks and for every wrong answer, 1 mark was deducted. There were four sets of the paper.
