NEET 2021 takers aiming for MBBS admission at government colleges are on the quest to know the safe score which will bag them a seat at a Government medical college. Since the NEET 2021 cutoff for the Government medical colleges is yet to be announced, candidates are advised to take a look at the last year’s NEET cut off to make an estimate on whether students will get Government medical college admission or not. A number of NEET takers have approached Shiksha asking what is the safe score in NEET 2021 for SC category candidates to get Government medical college admission. This article aims to answer their question by providing the NEET 2021 cut off for Scheduled Caste (SC) category candidates at Government medical colleges across India.

Upon tallying the last year’s NEET cut off, it can be assumed that a score in the range of 436 to 550 is a safe score in NEET 2021 for SC category candidates to get admission to a Government medical college. For the top medical colleges like Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, the NEET 2021 cutoffs for SC category candidates was higher, which were 661, 611 and 609 respectively. For the majority of the Government medical colleges in India, the safe score in NEET 2021 for SC category candidates is 436 and above.

States with NEET Cut Off Score Above 600 for SC Category

There are a few states with top Government medical colleges with a NEET cut off score above 600 for SC category candidates. Some such states are as follows:

  • Delhi

  • Maharashtra

  • Rajasthan

  • Tamil Nadu

  • Uttar Pradesh

NEET aspirants must note that the above mentioned cut off marks for the SC category is that of last year, i.e. 2020. The NEET 2021 cut off marks will be updated soon after it is officially released. Candidates may also note that the NEET 2021 cut off scores for government medical colleges is likely to reduce since the exam’s qualifying cut off as released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) is lower than that of last year.
