NBE has postponed NEET PG 2024 exam on July 7, as per the official notification. With the official notification, all confusion and rumors have ended. The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 will be August 15. Candidates will have to register on the official website to submit application form for NEET PG 2024.
NEET PG 2024 exam postponed
NEET PG 2024 exam has been postponed to July 7, the official notification says. According to the official release, the cut-off date to appear in the NEET PG 2024 exam will be August 15, 2024. "Candidates are advised to check the exact dates of examinations from the Information Bulletins/ NBEMS website as the above dates are purely tentative and subject to approvals & confirmations," the official release said. As per the earlier schedule the exam was scheduled to be held on March 3. NBE will release the official brochure comprising important dates and details for NEET PG 2024.

NEET PG 2024 postponement
There is a mixed reaction among students regarding NEET PG 2024 postponement reports. Some of them believe that as some states have internship deadline in May or June, that is the reason NBE is thinking to postpone the exam. Lok Sabha election is another reason why the exam conducting body is postponing the NEET PG 2024 date. Lok sabha election is due in April-May 2024.

Yes. NBE has released the revised list of NEET PG 2025 cities post exam postponement. There are 233 test cities for NEET PG 2025 exam. The application window reopened to choose exam city from the list. The application window was open from June 13 to June 17, 2025. NEET PG exam centre 2025 were allotted with NEET PG 2025 admit card on July 31, 2025. Candidates must note the admit card has to be downloaded from the official website with login details.
NBE provides reporting time with admit card. NEET PG 2025 reporting time is 7 am. According to the past year data, the last round NEET PG closing rank for MD/MS admission at IUL Lucknow ranged between 4097 and 7174 in the year 2025. The most difficult branch to get admission to was MS Ophthalmology and the most-the easiest one was MS in ENT.

Yes, for postgraduate medical courses like MD and MS, colleges accept NEET PG scores. For super-specialty courses, NEET SS is required. MBBS admission, however, is based only on NEET UG.

No. NEET-PG is mandatory for all MD admissions in India across all colleges, government, private, deemed, and central institutions. There is no alternative entrance exam or direct admission route for MD. Even foreign nationals of Indian origin need to qualify in the relevant entrance process.
