NIOS Board Exams 2026: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) published the NIOS date sheet 2026 for practical exam on the official website. About NIOS

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) was established to cater to the needs of a mixed group of learners up to pre-degree level. The Open School was started in 1979 as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It was established by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 1989. NIOS provides Secondary, Senior Secondary and Vocational courses through open and distance learning(ODL) mode. In addition, it also provided Open Basic Education and Elementary Teacher Education Programme.

Students can register for NIOS online admission 2024-25 via the official website - nios.ac.in by filling the NIOS admission form. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) conducts NIOS board exams for Class 10th and 12th twice a year, in March-April and October/November. NIOS examinations are conducted in April for Block-I and in October for Block-II.

NIOS Admit Card 2026

The NIOS will release the NIOS theory hall ticket 2026 on the official website in March 2026. The NIOS releases NIOS admit cards for Class 10 and Class 12, theory and practical exams in online mode. Usually the NIOS admit card is released one week prior to the exam. The NIOS 10th Hall ticket 2026 and NIOS 12th Hall ticket 2026 for practical and theory exams are released separately.

Students have to visit the official website and download the NIOS admit card 2026 by entering the enrollment number. NIOS Admission 2026

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) released the schedule for the NIOS 10th and 12th registration process and payment of exam fee for April/May 2026 public exams. For learners enrolled in stream I, Block I, and for eligible learners for exams prior to Oct-Nov 2025 exams, could register from November 21 to December 20, 2025 without late fee. They can register with a late fee of INR 100 per subject from December 21 to December 31, 2025. With a consolidated late fee of INR 1500 per learner, the registration can be done from January 1 to January 10, 2026.

The NIOS admission for class 12th and 10th is conducted twice in a year. The first session is for April - Block 1 and the second is for October - Block 2. The last date for Online Admission of Stream-2 for Academic session 2025-26 was 31st July, 2025. The last date for NIOS 10th and 12th admission was January 31, 2025 without any late fee, for the October session. They should check the notification for the NIOS admission last date. NIOS examinations are conducted twice in a year. Block 1 in March/April and Block II in Oct/Nov. The admissions for Block-I usually start during mid of March and continue until the mid of September for the March-April examinations.
