NIOS Admission 2026
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) released the schedule for the NIOS 10th and 12th registration process and payment of exam fee for April/May 2026 public exams. For learners enrolled in stream I, Block I, and for eligible learners for exams prior to the Oct-Nov 2025 exams, could register from November 21 to December 20, 2025, without a late fee. They can register with a late fee of INR 100 per subject from December 21 to December 31, 2025. With a consolidated late fee of INR 1500 per learner, the registration was done from January 1 to January 10, 2026.
The NIOS admission for class 12th and 10th is conducted twice in a year. The first session is for April - Block 1 and the second is for October - Block 2. The last date for Online Admission of Stream-2 for Academic session 2025-26 was 31st July, 2025. For NIOS 12th exam, each subject paper will be conducted for 100 Marks. This 100 marks involve theory, internal, and practical components. The internal assessment will have a weightage of 10 marks, and the practical exam will carry 30 marks. The time duration of the NIOS board exam is 3 Hours.
