A recent poll by Shiksha asked NIFT 2025 aspirants whether they think the cutoff for admissions will rise this year. With 250+ participants, the responses highlight a mix of confidence, caution, and curiosity among candidates.

48% of respondents believe the cutoff is likely to rise, suggesting expectations of tougher competition this year.

16% feel the cutoff will remain similar to last year, showing confidence in a stable trend.

The poll reflects a growing anticipation among the NIFT aspirants, with nearly half of the respondents expecting a more competitive cutoff. As candidates wait for the official results and counselling updates, these insights provide a snapshot of current expectations.
Yes, the NIFT 2025 exam will also include the expected cut-off for the exam. Note that the expected cut-off is shared by candidates who have appeared in the entrance exam. In addition, the leading NIFT 2025 coaching institutes will also release the expected cut-off, which would be updated here. The cut-off would depend on a host of factors like the number of applicants, difficulty level of the paper, etc. The candidate by consulting the cut-off would get a rough idea about ones admission process.
Note that as per the student feedback so far, the NIFT question papers for both CAT and GAT were easy to moderate. So, expect the cut-off to stay high.
The National Instituite of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT 2026 at the time of seat allotment and counseling.
The cut-offs will be available institute and category-wise for all the program at nift.admissions.nic.in.
The cut-offs will be prepared by considering factors like the seat intake, the merit rank of candidates, admission category, etc. Note that if the seat intake is increase the cut-off would likely go down and vice versa.

NIFT 2026 counseling process will be conducted online and will have multiple rounds. In the previous edition of the exam, three regular rounds, followed by a SPOT round, of seat allotment were conducted.
If you meet the cut-off in any of these rounds, you will be considered for admission in that round. However, if you fail to meet the cut-off criteria, you may be considered for admission in the subsequent rounds provided you meet the cut-off for that round. Or, else you will have to wait for the SPOT round, where seats will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Vacant seats after completion of the regular rounds will be offered in the SPOT round.
