NIFT 2026 Answer Key (OUT): Provisional Answer Key PDF LINK, Challenge Window (OPEN till Feb 19)

National Testing Agency (NTA) will release answers key for NIFT 2026 GAT paper in February 2026.

The answer key will be available online at NTA NIFT admission portal - exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. To download the answer key, log in to the portal using your application number and date of birth.

The National Institite of Design (NID) will release the answer sheets of the candidate after the declaration of the FINAL results. Further, the answer sheets will only be available on request, only after the admission process is complete.

The answer sheet is not be issued during the admission process.

To request the answer sheet for the admission cycle 2026 the candidate has to make a payment of INR 1000 online/ per exam. The candidate will also have to furnish the NID DAT 2026 admit card duly signed by the invigilator and seal of the exam center with the request. 

The answer sheet will be sent to the candidate within 15-20 days after receiving the payment.

The National Institute of Design will, however, not release any answer keys for the DAT Prelims exam.

To calculate the scores from NIFT Provisional Answer Key:

• Download the NIFT answer key from the NTA NIFT Website.
• Compare your answers with the answer key to calculate the number of correct attempts.
• Using the NTA NIFT marking scheme, calculate probable scores.
• Probable scores can be used by the candidate to assess the chances of admission.

The National Institute of Technology (NIFT) releases answer keys only for the computer-based GAT test. No answer key are released for the offline-based CAT paper.

The answer key has to be downloaded online from the NIFT admission portal - niftadmissions. In.

Also, the keys are released separately for the B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech and MFM courses. The key will contain the official answers to questions asked in the entrance exam.

The NIFT answer key objection window will close once the draft key is released. To submit objections, you have to:

1. Go to the NTA NIFT admission portal 

2. Click on the objection submission link

3. A log-in window will open

4. Log in using candidate credentials

1. Once you log in, you can access the objection form

2. Enter you roll number, date of birth, program, and question booklet series

3. Select the answer key you want to challengeSelect the Question number

4. Attach the supporting documents and describe your observation in concise and clear terms

5. Make the payment of INR 200 per objection (note, the fee is non-refundable)

Once you are done, submit the application.

NTA will release the NIFT 2026 Provisional Answer Key on February 16, 2026 (tentative). Last year, the Answer Key was released on February 15, 2025. The answer key will be released on the NTA NIFT Website.

The NTA will release the NIFT 2026 question paper for the written exam along with the answer key. The question paper will be made available before the declaration of exam results.

The candidate had to download the NIFT question paper 2026 from the NTA NIFT admission portal.

To download the NIFT answer key

The NTA also releases the recorded responses for the NIFT exam. The recorded responses are the corbon copy of the candidate’s answer sheet.

The recorded responses are meant to bring transparency to the conduct of the NIFT entrance exam. For instance, the candidate can’t be unfairly penalized or awarded marks, as the answer sheets will be in the public.

It is because the candidate can challenge the result if there is an anomaly.

Objections cannot be filed against the the final answer key. The provisional answer key will be released in February 2026; note that the NIFT written exam will be conducted around the 1st week of February 2026.

The candidate could download their OMR sheets by logging into the portal using their candidate log-in details. The carbon copy of the OMR answer sheet as the name indicates is a record of the candidates responses in the entrance exam. The OMR sheet can be used by the candidate in conjunction with the GAT answer key to check the status of the answers (correct or incorrect). Next the candidate can use the official marking scheme to calculate probable score.

Candidates must remember the following points for NIFT.

• Answer key will only be released for the GAT paper
• No answer keys will be released for the CAT paper
• Answer key has to be downloaded online from the NID admission portal
• Candidate will be given the option to challenge the NIFT answer key
• To make a challenge, the candidate will have to pay INR 500 per challenge. The final answer key will be released after considering all challenges filed by candidates.

NIFT GAT 2026 answer key will contain the official keys to all the questions asked in the entrance exam. Answer key will be released for each booklet series. NIFT exam may have multiple question booklet series Booklet Series A, Booklet Series F, Booklet Series L, Booklet Series R, etc.

Candidate must download the answer keys corresponding to their own booklet series. booklet series contains the same questions, but the questions are arranged differently. So, unless the candidate downloads the answer keys corresponding to the relevant booklets series, the keys will not match. And if that happens, the candidate will not be able to accurately calculate the probable scores.

NTA will release the FINAL answer key of NIFT 2026 in April 2026.

Final key will be released after considering complaints filed by candidates against the provisional key. No further objections against the final key will be entertained. This means the keys given in the final key will be considered to be the correct keys to all the questions asked in the NIFT exam.

The candidate can use the keys given in the final answer key to precisely calculate their expected scores.

The NIFT exam includes two stages - The candidate first appears in the written exams, and if shortlisted has to next appear in a Situation Test/ Personal Interview (PI).

Note that the written exams for the B.Des and M.Des program includes the GAT and CAT, whereas for the other programs the written exam includes only the GAT.

The final score for the B. Des programme will be prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in CAT, GAT and the Situation Test. In case of the B.FTech programme, the merit list will be prepared based on GAT scores.
