Overview

NEET PG 2026 counselling notification will be released online at mcc.nic.in. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct NEET PG counselling 2026 in online mode. Students who have a valid score in NEET PG can participate in the counselling process. The authority will conduct the online counselling for 50% All India Quota Post-Graduate Medical. 

Students will have to fill out and submit the NEET PG counselling form online to participate in the counselling process. There will be three rounds of NEET PG counselling followed by stray rounds. The counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting to the allotted institute. NEET PG counselling dates will be announced online. NEET PG 2026 Counselling Process

NEET PG counselling is conducted for admission to 50% All India Quota seats. MCC, the counselling body, will conduct four rounds of counselling for seat allotment. The respective State authorities will conduct counselling for the remaining 50% AIQ seats. The counselling process starts with online registrations and ends with candidates reporting to the allotted institute with all the documents. Seats are allotted based on choice filled, availability of seats in a particular institute, reservation criteria and other factors. The seat allotment result will be released separately for every round.

The counselling of NEET PG is conducted for admission to the following quotas:

  • 50% All India Quota seats

  • 50% State Quota seats

  • Armed Forces Medical Services

  • Deemed Universities

  • Central Universities (DU, AMU, BHU)

  • ESIC colleges

NEET PG 2026 Counselling Registration

Candidates have to register online to participate in the NEET PG counselling. New registration is accepted for each round. Registered students will not have to make fresh registration for each round of NEET PG counselling. The process to apply for NEET PG counselling 2026 is mentioned below.

Process of registration for NEET PG 2026:

  • Go to the official website of MCC-mcc.nic.in
  • Click on ‘PG Medical Counselling’
  • Register using a valid email ID and mobile number
  • Note down the login credentials
  • Login again to fill the application form
  • Enter personal/academic details
  • Check the form before final submission

  • To participate in the counselling of NEET PG 2026, a candidate needs to pay the registration fee
  • The registration fee for NEET PG 2026 counselling has to be paid online (Net banking/credit card/debit card)

NEET PG 2026 Counselling Criteria

To participate in the counselling for NEET PG 2026, a candidate must score more than or equal to the qualifying cutoffs released by MCC. Cutoff is also revised at times to fill vacant seats. Candidates can refer to the table below for the NEET PG cutoff.

Documents Required for NRI Conversion

Those who are willing to convert their nationality from Indian to NRI, have to send the following documents to MCC via email.
  • NEET PG 2026 Admit Card
  • NEET PG 2026 Scorecard
  • Proof of NRI Status of the parent/relative:
    • Valid Passport
    • Visa / Residence Permit / Work Permit
    • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card / PIO card, if applicable
    • NRI Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Embassy / Indian Consulate).
  • Certificate of Relationship between the NRI relative and the candidate issued by the competent Revenue Authority through Family Tree.
  • Affidavit (Notarised) by the NRI relative stating that they will sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses of the candidate during the period of study duly supported by NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book.
  • 10th & 12th mark sheets + passing certificate
  • Birth certificate
  • Passport of candidate/ Sponsorer (optional)

NEET PG 2026 Choice Filling

After completing the registration, students will have to exercise the NEET PG choice filling process. In this process, students have to make the preference of college and course from the list provided by MCC. They have to select fill the choice in preference order. After making the choice, candidates have to lock it. The process to exercise the NEET PG choice filling process is mentioned below.

  • Go to the MCC website and log in with your registration credentials
  • Fill the choice of college and course for NEET PG seat allotment 2026
  • Click on ‘+’ button to add a new choice
  • For rearranging the order of choice filled, just drag it to the desired position
  • Click on ‘save and next’ to lock the final choices as desired by candidates

NEET PG Counselling for State Quota Seats

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is responsible for admissions to the 50% AIQ seats of government, government-aided and private colleges in India. The remaining 50% of these colleges are also filled using the scores of NEET PG, but the counselling for these seats is conducted by the respective state government. NEET PG Counselling for DNB Seats

As DNB-CET was scrapped, admission to the post-MBBS DNB broad speciality courses is now based on the performance of a candidate in NEET PG. The counselling for DNB courses is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). To apply for NEET PG counselling for admission to DNB courses, a candidate needs to register on the official website of NBE.

NEET PG 2026 Counselling Rounds

Once seats are allotted in round-1, students have to select out of below given options to proceed for next round of NEET PG seat allotment.

Round 1 Counselling: Options to Choose

Option 1: This is termed as 'free exit'. The seat allotted to a particular candidate during NEET PG counselling 2026 round one gets automatically cancelled if he/she don't report to the allotted institute within the given duration of time.

Option 2: The candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her in round one of NEET PG 2026 counselling and reports to the allocated colleges within the given timeframe to secure the seat.

Option 3: Those who are not satisfied with the allotted seat in the first round can opt for the up-gradation of seats and participate in the next round of counselling. If a seat is not upgraded in the second round of NEET PG 2026 counselling, the seat allotted in the first round will be retained.

NEET PG 2026 Round-2 Counselling

The process for NEET PG second round counselling 2026 will be similar to that of the first round. In this round, new candidates who didn't participate in the first round will have to register and pay the registration fee. Those who have already registered during round one don't need to register again. But the choice filling is mandatory to every candidate, irrespective of the fact whether they declare the choice in the first round of NEET PG 2026 counselling. 

Who can participate in NEET PG 2026 round two counselling?

  • Those who didn't get any seat in NEET PG counselling 2026 round one
  • Seat allotted in round one but it got cancelled in the physical document verification process
  • If a candidate wants to upgrade his allotted seat in the NEET PG round one counselling
  • Candidates who choose 'free exit' option or did not participate in round one counselling.

NEET PG 2026 Round-3 counselling

NEET PG counselling round-3 seat allotment will be released online. Candidates who exited in counselling rounds one and two by not reporting to the college allotted to them will have to register for the NEET PG round-3 counselling 2026. Those who didn't get a seat in either round one or two of NEET PG counselling 2026 don't need to register again in this round. All the candidates will have to fill fresh choices of colleges/courses in this round for the seat allotment process. Seat allotment result for the mop-up round was published on the official website.

NEET PG 2026 Online Stray Vacancy Round Counselling

This is the fourth and tentatively the last round of NEET PG Counselling. Only those students who did not take admission in any of the allotted seats, be it in the AIQ or State Quota seat offers, or those who have not been allotted a seat so far, will be eligible to participate in this round. In case seats remain vacant after this round, then MCC will conduct additional rounds of counselling or the admission process.

NEET PG 2026 Seat Allotment

MCC releases the result of NEET PG counselling in the form of a seat allotment list. The result PDF comprises details of the candidate, rank secured, the course or the institute allotted to her/him, and remarks. After the registration process for the first round for NEET PG counselling, MCC will start seat allotment processing. Seats will be allocated based on the options filled by the candidates, their all India ranks, reservation criteria, availability of seats and other aspects. MCC will upload the NEET PG seat allotment list on its official website in PDF format. Candidates who make it to the list can download their seat allotment letter by logging into the registered account on the official website. NEET PG 2026 Cutoff: Reduced Cutoff

The authority will release the NEET PG cutoff online after each round of counselling. Candidates whose rank is within the NEET PG admission cutoff will be offered a seat. Last year, the NEET PG counselling cutoff was reduced to make more students eligible for seat allotment. Candidates can check the revised cutoff below.

NEET PG 2026 Counselling Seat Matrix

NEET PG seat matrix for counselling means the total number of seats which will be allotted under each speciality course. The seat matrix also defines the number of seats that are available for a particular category of candidates. It will be released before each round for NEET PG counselling 2026. Referring to the NEET PG seat matrix before filling the options in the preference form will help candidates determine the chances of getting the desired speciality with their score. 

NEET PG 2026 Reservation

The final seat allocation will be done considering the reservation criteria for NEET PG 2026 exam. Candidates will get 27 per cent OBC quota and 10 per cent EWS quota for admission through 50 per cent All India Quota seats. These candidates will have to produce relevant certificates to take advantage of the NEET PG 2026 reservation criteria while seeking admission.

What After NEET PG 2026 Counselling

After seat allotment, students have to report for document verification. They must carry all their certificates in original along with a self-attested copy. Q:   For what number of seats, state agencies conduct NEET PG counselling?
A: 

State agencies conduct counselling for 50% quota seats. Rest 50% seats are allotted through All India Quota which is conducted by Medical counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates do have to fill application form to become elligible for state counselling process. State counselling bodies release counselling dates and schedule for seat allotment.

Q:   How much time is provided to join allotted college after seat allocation?
A: 

For every counselling round, reporting deadline is provided in the counselling schedule. Candidates can submit fees and report till the given deadline. Though candidates can report till last day, but they are advised to report before the deadline due to different schedule of holiday/working hours in various Medical Colleges/Institutes. Also they are advised to carry all original certificates and documents during reporting.

Q:   I have registered for round 1 of NEET PG counselling. Should I register again for round 2/mop up round?
A: 

No, online registration for NEET PG counselling is a one-time process. Those who have already registered once don't need to register again. Only those candidates who have not registered themselves during round 1 need to register for the round 2/mop-up round. Registration can be done in any round except last one on the official website. Mcc. Nic. In. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for allotment of 50% All India Quota seats.

Q:   What information is needed for NEET PG registration for seat allotment?
A: 

Candidates need to enter all those details which were submitted while submitting NEET PG application form. Some information can be filled from admit card issued before exam. This is the reason candidates are advised to save copy of application form and admit card. Both these documents are needed at various stsges of admission process for NEET PG exam. 

Q:   Do I have to go any NEET PG counselling center for registration?
A: 

No. Candidates don't need to visit any particular centre for registration or choice declaration. They need to have good internet conectivity for registration. Candidates can make registration as per their convenience with uninterrupted internet supply. It must be noted registration is mandatory to participate in NEET PG seat allotment process.

 

Q:   Will MCC conduct NEET PG counselling for 50% AIQ seats?
A: 

Yes. MCC will conduct NEET PG counselling for allocation of 50% Al India quota seats. Respective state authorities will conduct counselling for rest 50% seats. Candidates will have to register online and declare choice of college and course for seat allocation. A total of 4 rounds of counselling is held for allotment of seats. Seat allotment result is released separately for each round of counselling.

Q:   How to generate password for NEET PG counselling registration?
A: 

Candidates do have to generate password while making registration for NEET PG counselling. The password can be reset again by candidate. It must be noted the password must be saved till admission process gets over and must not be shared to anyone. Password generation is an important step for online NEET PG seat allocation process.
