In RRB Group D registration form, candidates are required to enter basic details. The hard copy of the application form is not sent to candidates by post. Only online applications are accepted for the exam.  Fee is paid online.

A large number of candidates apply for the RRB Group D exam conducted by RRBs. In 2022, a total of 1.15 crore candidates had applied for the exam against 1,03,769 vacancies. RRB Group D application form is released online by RRBs. 

RRB Group D exam is conducted to select candidates for Level 1 posts in Indian Railways. RRB Group D salary for all posts ranges between INR 22,500 to 25,380 depending on the place they are posted. The basic pay of RRB Group D employees is INR 18,000 as per the Seventh pay matrix.  RRB Group D salary serves as a motivation to lakhs of aspirants. The salary structure is tabulated as per the 7th pay commission. This structure help candidates to understand how their compensation is calculated. RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

RRB Group D exam is conducted for the level 1 posts in Indian Railways. The selection process includes Computer Based Test, Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST), Document Verification and Medical Exam. The year-wise total recruitment done through RRB Group D is given below.

RRB Group question papers are released online four days after the exam is conducted. RRBs provide the facility to challenge RRB Group D question paper. Candidates need to submit the objections online only. Candidates are required to mention the question ID against which they want to raise objections.

RRB Group D CBT question paper will be available in 15 languages: Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The language of the paper is based on the region or the specific exam. But the majority of Railway Recruitment Board papers will be in the official language of the state in which the exam is conducted. For example, if the exam is taking place in Tamil Nadu, the paper is likely to be in Tamil. Likewise, if the exam is taking place in Kolkata, the language of the question paper will be in Bengali. Candidates can choose the exam language while filling out the application form.

While preparing the syllabus of RRB Group D the topics given in the same have been framed keeping in mind the nature of the job profile. The educational qualification for RRB Group D exam is Class 10 pass. Therefore, the syllabus has been formulated based on the given educational qualification. RRB Group D syllabus is given below: Mathematics: Number System, Percentage, BODMAS, LCM-HCF, Simple and Compound Interest, Algebra, Profit and Loss, etc. General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Data Sufficiency, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Relationships, etc General Science: Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences of CBSE Class 10 level General Awareness: Current Affairs Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics

The Maths section of RRB Group D exam is usually moderate. Questions in the exam are asked from Number System, Percentage, BODMAS, LCM-HCF, Simple and Compound Interest, Algebra, Profit and Loss, etc. The standard of the Maths syllabus is of high school level. Candidates should practice previous years' question papers inorder to ace the exam. 

RRB Group D notification is released to select eligible candidates for various Level 1 posts in Indian Railways such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman, etc. RRB Group D notification is released on the official website in PDF form. The notification comprises important details related to the exam such as important dates, application process, eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus and more information. RRB Group D 2025 exam is conducted this year. RRB Group D notification 2025 has been released. The selection process comprises CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The recruitment is conducted to select candidates for the various posts in Level-1 of the seventh CPC pay matrix such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical, and S&T departments), Assistant Pointsman, and many more. 

Once candidates qualify for the computer-based tests of RRB Group D exam, then they are called for Physical Efficiency. Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory, and it is qualifying in nature. In PET, the male candidates should be to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down and should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance. In PET, the female candidates should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down and should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

RRB Group D application form 2025 was released on January 23, 2025 by the Railway Recruitment Boards. RRB Group D application form should be filled online only. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250. Candidates can pay the fee both online and offline. Candidates are not required to sent the hard copy of the application form.

RRB Group D notification 2025 was released by the Railway Recruitment Boards. The notification was released in PDF form and comprises the details related to the exam. The selection process of RRB Group D comprises Computer Based Test,  Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST), Document Verification and Medical Exam. The application fees for RRB Group D exam are INR 500 for all candidates except the fee concession categories. For PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class, the application fees are INR 250. The application fee can be paid online. On appearing in CBT, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given full refund of application fee. Those belonging to unreserved categories are given partial refund of application fee. RRB Group D application fee can be paid online using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/UPI. 

If the candidate is eligible for more than one post based on their educational qualifications, they must enter the post preferences as per priority. RRB Group D application form should be filled online only.

Yes, candidates can change their states in the RRB Group D exam. This can be done by first choosing 'Application Modification' which is available in the home page of the registration portal. After candidates have chosen the preferred state, they need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 100 for modifying the application. Once candidates have successfully paid the application fee they can make the necessary changes and then submit it. Please note that candidates will not be able to edit your registration number, email id, mobile number, and your zone. Candidates are required to fill the application form online. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.
