NEST Counselling Process for Round 1 ended for the academic session 2025-26, and the scheduled date for the commencement of classes was August 1, 2025. The campus reporting for the first round of admission for the document verification process, in person at the NISER campus, Jatni, was scheduled on July 25, 2025. NEST 2025 Counselling Process for Round 1 ended for the academic session 2025-26. The date for the commencement of classes was August 1, 2025. The campus reporting for the first round of admission, in person at the NISER campus, Jatni, was scheduled for July 25, 2025, for the document verification process, along with the required documents.
According to the notice released on the NEST official website, the NEST 2025 scorecards were revised due to a minor error in the qualifying percentile. The error has been corrected, and all the candidates were advised not to panic because most students' AIR or marks will not be affected; all applicants were advised to download their revised scorecard (dated July 17, 2025) from the official website because only the revised scorecard will be valid for future admission processes. The NEST exam counselling will be done in online mode only. The exam conducting authority will release the dates of counselling in official notification after the conclusion of the exam.
Applicants are advised to check the NEST exam counselling schedule and visit the centre along with their academic as well as category related documents.
If two applicants score same marks in NEST exam, then they will get same provisional ranks when the result will be declared. But the tie breaker between them will be done during counselling/admission process by comparing the marks secured by applicants in class 12th exam.

- The application process started on February 17, 2025, by the UM DAE CEBS and NISER on the official website.
- To submit the NEST 2025 application, students can use online payment methods like net banking, debit card and credit card.

NEST Counselling
The NEST 2025 Counselling Process consists of various steps to provide admission to deserving candidates. Students need to first register themselves online by visiting the NEST official website to be eligible for the counselling process. The start date for the NEST 2025 Counselling Process for the First round of invitation for admission to NEST NISER was July 25, 2025. The candidates' list was out on the official website of NEST NISER on July 18, 2025. Invited candidates were required to report in person to the NISER campus, Jatni, by 9:00 am on July 25, 2025. The counselling process for round 1 is over for the academic session 2025-26.
The choice-filling helps candidates to choose their preferred courses and colleges. Students get their seats based on the availability of seats and the NEST 2025 Exam Ranking.
Scholarship Programme In NISER or CEBS
Candidates who want to apply for a yearly scholarship of INR 60,000 can also apply for the DISHA program by the Department of Atomic Energy, once they get admission to NISER and CEBS. Also, candidates who achieve overall excellent scores till the end of their programme can directly appear for the admission interview at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
