No, there is no negative marking scheme in the NBSE HSSLC exams. Nagaland board does not follow negative marking scheme in its class 12 board exams. This allow the students answer every objective and subjective questions asked in the exams. However, students should accuracy, especially in the section dedicated to objective type questions.

Q: What is the format of NBSE HSSLC question papers?

The students preparing for the Nagaland Board 12th exams must check the exam format and prepare accordingly. NBSE HSSLC exams include a mix of objective (multiple choice questions), and subjective (short and long type questions). However, exam format may vary subject to subject especially in theory papers. A few papers like Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Sociology etc. also include practical exams of 30 marks in each paper.

Q: When will NBSE HSSLC exam be conducted?

An official NBSE HSSLC routine 2025 is yet to be announced. However, as per the last year's exam date, the NBSE HSSLC exams 2026 will held in February and March 2026. Cracking the NBSE HSSLC exam is similar to CBSE because NBSE follows the NCERT carriculu and syllabus. Hence, the students must focus on their NBSE HSSLC exam preparation. For better preparation, the students need to obtain the Nagaland Board 12th syllabus and prepare a daily study schedule accordingly. The students must follow the study plan religiously and try to complete the syllabus at least 2 months before the final exams. It will give them enough time so revise the NBSE 12th syllabus and practice the official model papers and the previous year’s NBSE class 12 question papers.

Q: What subjects are included in NBSE 12th exam?

The NBSE offer all the common and major subjects in its class 12. All the major subjects are divided stream-wise and few subjects are common for all stream students. The students need to select the subjects as per their choice and stream. Some of the common subjects include English, regional languages, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, History, Political Science, and Education.

NBSE HSSLC Exam Pattern 2025: Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Kohima prescribes the NBSE HSSLC exam pattern 2025 for the students who are preparing to appear for the NBSE 12th exams. Students must be aware of the Nagaland Board 12th exam pattern in advance so that they can prepare for the exam accordingly. NBSE HSSLC pattern 2025 helps the students become aware of the mode of exam, number of questions asked, total marks in each subject and more. In the NBSE HSSLC exams 2025, students have to appear for six external subjects, including one additional subject and three subjects that are internally assessed.

For all the streams, English is a compulsory subject.
Accountancy, Economics, and Business studies are compulsory for the commerce stream while Chemistry and Physics are compulsory subjects for the students of the science stream.
Subjects that do not have practical components are held for 100 marks whereas all the subjects with practical papers will include theory for 70 marks and practicals of 30 marks.
Papers that have internal/project work will consist of the internals of 10 marks and theory of 90 marks.
