UCEED 2027 Exam: Date, Application (OCTOBER), Eligibilty, Syllabus, Pattern and Question Papers

UCEED Entrance Exam 2027

What is UCEED Entrance Test?

UCEED is the entrance test conducted by IIT Bombay for providing admission to the B.Des programme at IITs. The full form of UCEED is Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design. It is one of the top-level exams in the Design stream for B.Des Programmes. It is conducted under the guidance of the UCEED CEED Implementation Committee (UCI Committee). The admissions to the B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur are done through the UCEED entrance Examination. Many result-sharing institutes accept the UCEED scores for B.Des Admissions. 

UCEED 2027 Application

UCEED Application opens in the first week of October at uceed.iitb.ac.in. All the students who wish to study B.Des at IITs must fill the UCEED Entrance Application 2027. To fill UCEED Application form, candidates are required to register and fill in personal and academic information, select UCEED 2027 test centers, upload documents, and pay fee. UCEED 2027 application fee can be around INR 4,000 for General and INR 2,000 for reserved and female candidates. 

UCEED 2027 Eligibility Criteria

The detailed eligibility criteria for the UCEED 2027 exam are given below.

• Age limit - The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2002, if belonging to the Open, EWS, or OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1996, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category. 
• Number of attempts - A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same academic year. 
• Qualifying examination - A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2026 OR 2027 to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2027. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2027.

UCEED 2027 Syllabus

IIT Bombay releases UCEED Syllabus with the release of the UCEED Notification. The syllabus can be divided into two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A of UCEED 2027 can be administered in a computer-based test (CBT) mode and can have three sections (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ). Meanwhile, UCEED Part B can have two sections: 1) the Drawing-based section, and 2) the Design Aptitude Section. One question can be asked from each section.

UCEED 2027 Pattern

UCEED Pattern will be released by IIT Bombay. The exam pattern of UCEED 2027 will be released on its official portal. The exam pattern will be outlined in the UCEED 2027 Information Brochure. The question paper will be divided in two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will have 57 questions and Part B will have 2 questions.

UCEED 2027 Sample Paper

UCEED Question Papers can be downloaded from the UCEED website. UCEED also provided Answer Keys for past years. The question paper for the current year will be released with the release of the answer key. IIT UCEED Answer Key PDF will be available at uceed.iitb.ac.in. No login ID and password are required to download the Answer Key PDF for UCEED. The UCEED Final Answer Key is made after checking all student responses from the draft version.

Steps to Download UCEED Question Paper 

UCEED 2027 Centre

IIT Bombay conducts the exam offline at the UCEED Test centres. It can conduct the UCEED 2027 exam in 27 cities across India. An exam city can have one or more exam centres. The candidate has to select their choice of exam city when filling out the UCEED application form. Requests for a change in the UCEED exam centre (city) will not be considered. Candidates have to select three citites at the time of filling the Application form.

UCEED 2027 Admit Card

UCEED Admit card is released in the first week of January 2027. It is released for all the candidates who have successfully completed the UCEED registration. The UCEED Hall ticket is available on the official website. Candidates can log in using their credentials. Admit Card UCEED will have information like Name,  UCEED Registration ID, Roll Number for UCEED, Date of Birth, Category, photograph, signature, examination schedule, examination centre details, and instructions to candidates.

UCEED also provides an opportunity to the candidates to rectify any discrepancies that might have occurred in the Admit Card. Candidates must do so within the time alloted.

UCEED 2027 Answer Key

UCEED releases Draft Answer Key and response sheet for Part A. It also allows candidates to challenge the Draft answer key through the Candidates portal. The Final Answer Key for UCEED Part B will not be released. The final answer key will be out only for Part A. In the Final answer key, candidates will be able to check their answers after the incorporation of their responses.

• IIT Bombay will review all valid comments received from candidates
• Changes, if required, will be incorporated
• UCEED final answer key will be released after the review process
• The UCEED results will be prepared based on the final answer key.

How to download UCEED Final Answer Key 2027?

UCEED 2027 Result

UCEED Results 2027 will be released in the first week of March 2027. It will be released on the Candidate's Portal,  on the official website (www.uceed.iitb.ac.in). Candidates must use their user login and password (created during registration) to check their results. No hard copies of the UCEED Result will be sent to the candidates. 

The responses of the candidates for Part-A of UCEED 2027 will be available for download ONLY until the declaration of the UCEED result. Candidates will not be able to download the Part-A responses once the UCEED results are declared. The responses will be disabled, and no requests will be entertained.

All the candidates who have qualified in the UCEED 2027 Entrance Examination will be shortlisted and will be given a common merit rank (All India Rank). The Ranks will be assigned by considering the total marks of Part A and Part B in UCEED.

UCEED 2027 Scorecard

UCEED Scorecards will be made available from the second week of March 2027 till last week of July 2027. It can be downloaded from the Candidate's Portal. It will be valid for a period of one year from the date of issue. No hard copies of the scorecard will be given. It can be used to get admission to the UCEED Result sharing and Participating Institutes.

UCEED 2027 Colleges

There are two types of UCEED Colleges: UCEED participating Institutes and UCEED Result Sharing Institutes. UCEED Participating institutes participate in the UCEED Joint Counselling conducted by IIT Bombay, whereas UCEED Result sharing provides admission based on the score of UCEED Entrance Exam. They do not participate in the joint counselling process. There are around seven participating institutes of UCEED 2027. The participating institutes offer B.Des courses and have an intake of 245 seats. Admission to the programme can be strictly based on UCEED merit ranks.

UCEED 2027 Counselling

IIT Bombay can be conducting Joint Counselling for all the IITs offering B.Des programme through UCEED. Candidates can be required to fill the Common Application form for B.Des to participate in the UCEED Counselling process. The application will open in the second week of March 2027 (tentatively). The counselling will start from the third week of April 2027. There can be 5 rounds of counselling. Candidates can select the colleges in the application form.

A seat can be allotted based on the Candidate's All India Rank (AIR) in UCEED 2027, category and choice of institutes. Selected candidates can be sent provisional allotment letters to their registered email. They can be asked to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee of ₹ 60,000/- (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL and ₹ 15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only) for SC/ST/PwD.

UCEED 2027 Cutoff

UCEED 2027 cut-off marks for Part-A can be released by IIT Bombay in the form of Mean and Median for Part A. It can be released in the first week of February 2027. The cut-off scores are determined based on statistical parameters, specifically the mean and standard deviation of Part-A scores. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (UCEED 2026) was 70.86 and 25.77, respectively.

IIT Bombay also releases the UCEED cutoff for Admission to IITs at the time of Counselling. The cut-off marks for the 1st round of UCEED 2027 seat allotment can be out in the last week of April 2027.
