GATE EE 2026 Answer Key Solutions with Question Paper: The exam body, IIT Guwahati will conduct GATE 2026 EE exam tomorrow, Feb 14, 2026 in the first shift. As per the GATE 2026 branchwise exam dates, the entrance test for electrical engineering subject will be conducted in first shift (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM). Score Calculation Using Unofficial GATE 2026 EE Answer Key Solutions 

After candidates download the GATE EE 2026 answer key they must check their responses and match it with the solutions they have provided in their question paper. To check the answers provided on this page, students must follow the marking scheme mentioned below - 

  • As per GATE exam pattern, each question might carry 1 or 2 marks in all GATE exams.
  • There is negative marking for incorrect responses in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and as a result of that 1/3 of the total marks allotted to the specific question will be deducted in the exam.
  • There is no negative marking for Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

To break this down further for an EE paper:

  • 1-Mark MCQs:  (0.33) for every wrong answer.
  • 2-Mark MCQs:  (0.66) for every wrong answer.
  • MSQs & NATs: No negative marking for incorrect answers.

The GATE paper code of Engineering Sciences is XE. This year, IIT Guwahati has introduced a new sectional paper under XE, naming Energy Science (XE-I). The optional section (where the applicant has to choose any two) carries 70 marks. The GATE optional sections are as follows -

No, GATE is not a mandatory entrance exam for securing admissions at IIIT Bhubaneshwar. Candidates who fail to secure a GATE scorecard can still appear for the IIIT Bhubaneshwar M.Tech entrance exam which includes a written test. The syllabus of this written test is the same as the GATE.
