Why it is tedious calculating the score with the help of the answer key of JEE Main 2020?
Before answering this question, it is important to understand how the questions have been selected for JEE Main 2020 question papers. As per the details available in the JEE Main information brochure, questions for a shift have been selected from a large database. Every year, a new database of questions is created for JEE Main exam.
To identify, every question has a unique id known as Question Id (including Numerical Value Type Questions). Each Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) has four options and every option also has a unique Option Id.
Now, during the JEE Main, questions are picked randomly and options of a multiple-choice question have also been shuffled for every candidate in a shift. It means that two students answering the same questions will have a different sequence of the same options and here lies the trouble.
JEE Main answer key contains the question id and only the correct option id. For finding out the correct option (1, 2, 3, and 4) of a question, candidates have to match the chosen option with the correct option id. This needs to be done for all the 60 MCQs (Rest 15 are numerical value type questions having no options) in the question paper of a shift. This process at least takes one and half hour for one question paper.
After matching all the answers, candidates have to find out the number of answers marked by him/her correctly and incorrectly. After doing that, candidates will need to calculate positive (for correct answers) and negative marks (for wrong answers). For the probable JEE Main score, candidates have to subtract negative marks from the positive marks. This whole thing will again take at least one hour.
To help candidates in calculating their score quickly, Shiksha.com has done half of the work. The question papers with correct options for all the shifts conducted during the JEE Main 2020 January exam are given in the below table. With this, they just need to spend the time on finding out correct and incorrect options and then calculating their probable JEE Main score.

There is no decided cutoff for JEE Main for admission in HKBK College of Engineering. The BTech admission in HKBK is based on JEE merit and available seats. However, for candidates who get a decent percentile, there is a benefit in their favor.
