JoSAA 2020 Registration and Choice Filling: Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has begun the registration and choice -filling process for the qualified candidates of JEE Main 2020 and JEE Advanced 2020 on its official portal i.e. josaa.nic.in. The qualified candidates will be required to register themselves and then fill their online preferences of institutes and engineering streams from October 6 to 15, 2020. How to register for JoSAA 2020?
Candidates will need to follow the below-given steps to register and fill their choices in JoSAA 2020 counselling:
Step-1: Visit the official website josaa.nic.in.
Step-2: After visiting the website, search for JoSAA 2020 registration link and click on it.
Step-3: After clicking a registration window will open, where candidates will be required to enter their JEE Main 2020/JEE Advanced 2020 application number and password.
Step-4: After submitting the details, a window will open where all the details of candidates will be displayed. Candidates must cross-check all the details diligently and then enter a new password.
Step-5: Candidates will only be allowed to change their contact details. After checking all the details, candidates have to click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step-6: After completion of the registration process, candidates will be able to check the available choices of engineering streams and institutions. Aspirants must select the academic programs in order of their preferences.
Step-7: Candidates must not forget to lock their choices after filling them online. This is an important step in the process of the JoSAA 2020 seat allotment process. If a candidate does not lock the choices then the system will automatically save the choices selected earlier. Hence, the preference will be displayed like that only.
Instructions to follow while filling the choices for JoSAA 2020
Candidates are required to follow the below instructions while filling the choices for the JoSAA 2020 seat allocation:
- The choices have to be filled in the decreasing order of the preferences.
- Candidates must select the academic programs carefully.
- Candidates will be given a 10-day window to fill in their online choices.
- Candidates must lock their choices before the Online Choice Filling Window closes.
- The candidates will not be allowed to lock or change their choice after the deadline.

JoSAA 2020 Eligibility Criteria
To appear in the seat allocation rounds, candidates need to fulfil the given criteria:
- All the candidates who qualify JEE Main 2020 will be allowed to appear for the seat allocation round
- All the candidates who qualify JEE Advanced 2020 will also be eligible to appear for JoSAA 2020 counselling.
- The candidates must secure 75% in 12th class or must be in top 20 percentile. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the qualifying percentage is 65%. (For admission into IITs).

Q. Is domicile certificate required for admission to NITs?
A. In joining IIT/NIT/IIIT through JEE, candidates are not required to provide domicile certificate. It is only NIT where admission is offered against Home State quota and it is not determined on the basis of the state to which you belong but on the basis of the state in which you appear your 12th board exam.

- Candidates should have JEE Advanced rank.
- Candidates must have at least 75% aggregate marks in class 12 and SC, ST and PWD candidates must have atleast 65% marks.

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission
