JEE Advanced Preparation Tips

Till the time you will reach Advanced, you would have been done with your boards, hence you can utilise your boards’ knowledge in it. Mostly with Chemistry and the subjective part. Don't try to focus on any other entrance exam one week before JEE Advanced. One important thing to note, read the instructions carefully on each page of the question paper. There will be questions where you will have multiple answers correct and for each correct option, you will get marks. So, you won't need to solve the whole question.

JEE Advanced Last-Minute Tips

Don't start anything extra and read any new topic from the syllabus. Also, do not prepare for any other exam alongside. Do solve questions from JEE Advanced previous years’ papers. Solving the most number of questions with proper accuracy and in the least time is the key to stay in the competition. Stay away from distractions such as mobile phones (it's fine if you use it productively), social media, TV, marriage and family functions or outings, etc. Eat and sleep well to be healthy and fit on the day of the exam. There is a lot you have put on a stake while preparing for the exam. Hence, after this, everything will be worth.

JEE Advanced Time Management Tips

Time management is also important. As there will be two papers and the paper pattern changes almost every year, one has to keep in mind that nobody knows everything. The difficulty level of each section i.e. Physics, Maths and Chemistry will be equally difficult. Hence, start solving the questions right after you get the sheet and together with it, fill the OMR itself. Advanced has fewer cutoff marks. You only need to score only 60% to be in the top 1,000. Don't worry if the paper comes from topics you are weak in.

While solving the paper, try to understand the questions carefully. There will be questions in a paper where you know the questions but you didn't understand the language of the question, so you can leave those. It is important to keep such things in mind. You can also enroll yourself in a test series of various coaching institutes. This will help you analyse your preparation and then you can work to do better.

No, same questions never get repeated in IIT JEE exam. However, questions with similar concepts can find places in the exam. The question paper of JEE Advanced is prepared considering the syllabus and exam pattern.

You will not be eligible for admission as preparatory ranks are not considered under round 1. Since you have already qualified to appear for JEE (Advanced), all you need to do is meet the second criterion and apply for round 2, which will be only conducted if seats from round 1 remain vacant.

Yes, you can still get admission in Round 2 if you meet eligibility criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) and have a valid JEE (Mains) rank. Also, you must have scored 60% or above in class 12th. For SC/ST/PwD category students, 55% or above is required.
