VITEEE Counselling Documents Checklist

VIT 2026 counselling is ongoing and is being held phase-wise as per VITEEE 2026 ranks. VIT Vellore announced the results of VIT entrance exam 2026 on May 8 along with VITEEE counselling dates. VIT 2026 counselling process is done online for different rank range. Students who have cleared the exam must participate in the process in order to get admission at VIT Campuses at Vellore/Chennai/AP or Bhopal.

How is VIT Counselling 2026 done?

In VITEEE, the counselling is completely done based on the ranks obtained in the entrance exam. It takes place in phases, starting from rank 1 and goes upto 1.5 lakh above. The platform is common for all VIT campuses in India. To participate, students have to log in to the portal and complete certain activities related to VIT 2026 counselling. 

In short, stages of counselling include following -

• Check VITEEE result 2026 and download rank card

• Confirm counselling declaration

• Pay counselling registration fee

• Participate in the choice-filling process

• Check seat allotment result

• Accept and confirm

• Complete document verification for admission

Now, if a student accepts a seat allocated, the next step is to participate in document verification process for VIT admission. This stage is important and must be done carefully. 

For VITEEE 2026, students need to keep 2 sets of their documents ready (one original and one set of copy of certain documents). 

NOTE:

• No documents are required to upload during counselling registration and choice filling.

• Students have to display their documents on the day of reporting to the campus or when asked for, by the Office of Admissions.

Documents Required for VIT 2026 Counselling

Candidates must have the following documents in original format -

• Copy of provisional letter

• Class 12th marksheets of all attempts of qualifying examination.

• Transfer certificate/school leaving certificate

• Migration certificate (if issued by the board)

• Student profile (available at vit.ac.in or freshers portal) - signed by student and parent

• Affidavit by student on INR 200/- stamp paper - available at vit admissions portal in pdf format - must be signed and notarised.

• Affidavit by parent on INR 200/- stamp paper - signed at notarised. 

• Hostel affidavit on INR 200/- stamp paper- signed by notarised

• Physical fitness certificate (certified by authorised physician)

• Undertaking form (signed by student and parent)

• Recent passport size photograph - 2 to 3 

Along with the above documents, students must also keep a copy of the following-

• Aadhar card/Age-proof certificate (passport/birth certificate)/10th or 12th marksheet

• Transfer certificate/school leaving certificate/Migration certificate

• Community certificate (for SC/ST category)

• Nativity certificate (for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and North-Eastern States)

• All photocopies will not be returned for any reason.

• Candidate must submit the qualifying mark statement from board studied as mentioned in VITEEE registration form for verification. If there is any discrepancy, then admission will be duly cancelled and no refund will be initiated.

• The qualifying examination mark statement will be verified from respective board

How to download Provisional Admission Letter for VIT Admission?

Candidates have to upload their higher secondary examination hall ticket to download the provisional admission letter after remittance of tuition fee.

Documents required to avail VITEEE Scholarship

VIT Group of Institutions offer scholarships to students under GV School Development Programme. The VITEEE scholarship 2026 is offered to top 500 rankers as tuition fee waivers. To avail the scholarship scheme, students have to provide the above set of documents at the time of admission. The scholarship is awarded for the first year and is renewed for subsequent years (up to four years) only if -

• The student maintains a good CGPA track record above 8.0 CGPA

• 75% above attendance record

• No failed subjects during academic year.

Overall, VIT scholarship offered through VITEEE 2026 specifically applies to tuition fees only. It does not cover, any mess or hostel fees.
