WBJEE 2026 Exam Pattern

WBJEE exam pattern 2026 is now available. WBJEEB has release the pattern along with official WBJEE 2026 information brochure. To know how entrance exam will be held, candidates can check official pattern. WBJEE 2026 exam will be conducted offline, as a pen and paper based test. There will be no computer based test. At exam centre, students will have to mark their answers in WBJEE OMR sheet. The sheet will be provided by the authorities. Out of given options, correct answer has to be marked in OMR sheet, by darkening appropriate circle/bubble.

Q:   Is WBJEE an online or offline exam?
A: 

WBJEE is held offline as a pen and paper based test. Students have to report to centre and attempt exam in an OMR sheet. Out of the given options for each question, student will have to mark correct one with their pen and submit it.

Q:   How many papers are there in WBJEE?
A: 

WBJEE 2026 exam will have two papers. Paper 1 will be Mathematics and Paper 2 will be Physics and Chemistry.

Category I

Each correct answer will be awarded one mark.

An incorrect response will bring a loss of 1/4 mark.

For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will bring a loss of 1/4 mark.

Category II

Only one option is correct; the correct response yields two marks.

An incorrect response will bring a loss of 1/2 marks

For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will bring a loss of 1/2 marks

Category III

One or more options may be correct. Only correct responses will be given 2 marks.

There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Q:   Is it compulsory to attempt the Mathematics section of WBJEE?
A: 

Yes, for admission into BTech courses offered by WBJEEB, candidates will have to attempt all sections, including Mathematics. For BPharm admissions, Mathematics can be opted out.

Q:   Is there negative marking in WBJEE?
A: 

There is negative marking in WBJEE. For category 1 questions, one fourth mark will be deducted, and for category 2 questions, it is half mark. There is no negative marking for category 3 questions.

Q:   What is the section-wise weightage in WBJEE?
A: 

In WBJEE exam, candidates will have to attempt 75 questions from Mathematics. In Physics and Chemistry section, there will be 40 questions each in each subject.

If you belong to the OBC, SC, ST, EWS or PWD HS category, then yes, you can get a seat at KGEC with a rank of 600 in the WBJEE entrance examination.
