CLAT 2027 courses include BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCom LLB, BSc LLB and BTech LLB courses at the undergraduate level. Meanwhile, the LLM course is available for the programme in CLAT 2027 at the postgraduate level. Students who are willing to get admission in Law courses offered through CLAT must know the complete list of eligibility criteria, NIRF ranking and programme requirements here. 

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance test for admission to National Law Universities (NLUs) in the country. While CLAT is conducted for admission to NLUs specifically, except for NLU Delhi, many law colleges also accept CLAT results for their admission process. 

CNLU will tentatively conduct the exam in December. The CLAT Exam Date will tentatively be December 6, 2026. Students who are willing to appear in the exam must check the CLAT 2027 courses list to know their eligibility for the programme.

Q:   How will I know if I am eligible to appear in CLAT exam or not?

In order to know if you are eligible or not check the official notification and the eligibility criteria. There is no other way to check the the eligibility criteria.  Do not fill the form without checking the eligibility criteria. 

Q:   Can I get NLU if my CLAT Rank is 1500?
A: 

Yes, with a CLAT Rank of 1500, you have a very good chance of getting into several good NLUs. Some fo the NLU where your chances are high are NLIU Bhopal or NLU Jodhpur.

Q:   How many times I can appear for CLAT Exam?
A: 

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time. 

Q:   Can I get admission in NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam?
A: 

No you can not get admission to 26 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam.

Eligibility Criteria of Courses Offered Through CLAT 2027

To secure admission to the law college of your choice, it is mandatory to appear for CLAT Exam 2027. Though there is no age limit to appear for the CLAT Exam, candidates have to ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria for the particular course. Candidates can check the course-wise eligibility criteria for all courses offered through CLAT in the table given below:

BA LLB

  • Candidate must have completed his/her education up to the 10+2 level or its equivalent.
  • The candidate must get his/her Class 12th degree from a recognised state or central board of secondary education.
  • Candidate must have secured no less than 45% aggregate marks at the 10+2 level (40% for reserved category candidates)
  • Apart from this, the candidate must have scored passing marks in all the subjects of class 12th.

 

 

BBA LLB
BCom LLB 

BSc LLB 

  • The candidate must have completed his/her education up to 10+2 level or its equivalent
  • Aspirant must have received his/her class 12th degree from a recognised board of education (central or state).
  • Those looking for admission to BSc LLB, they should have completed class 12th in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology as the main subjects.
  • For BTech LLB, the aspirants must have done class 12th in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as the main subjects.
  • Applicant must have secured atleast 45% marks in aggregate at the 10+2 level (40% for reserved category candidates)
  • He/ she must have scored passing marks in all the subjects of class 12th.

  • Aspirants must have completed his/her education up to the graduation level.
  • The applicant must have a undergraduate degree in law
  • Applicant must have received his/her Undergraduate dree from a recognised university or college
  • Aggregate marks scored by the candidate in the undergradudate degree must not be less than 55% (50% for reserved category candidates)

The CLAT exam pattern carries important details such as the mode of the exam, the total number of questions, the marking scheme, etc. The CLAT 2027 exam will be held in offline mode. In CLAT 2027 Exam, 120 questions will be asked in CLAT UG and 120 questions in CLAT PG exam.

Chanakya University considers the score of CLAT for admission into BA LLB programme. However, admission is offered by considering the valid score of other entrance exams such as: CLAT/LSAT or CUPP (Chanakya University Pravesh Pariksha).

Yes, candidates can get admission in BA LLB (Hons) at VIT-AP University without CLAT. Aspirants can appear for VSLAT instead or submit scores in LSAT to be considered for admission.

No, CLAT is NIT required to get admission in BA LLB at GITAM Visakhapatnam. To get admission into the BA LLB programme at GITAM School of Law, Visakhapatnam, candidates can also qualify through the GITAM Admission Test (GAT) or the LSAT exam.
