Last day MAT preparation essentially includes revision and going through exam day guidelines. Take a look at top tips for MAT last day preparation.
Stick to Revision of Top MAT Formulae Only
A day before the MAT exam, don’t take out all the notes and try to read them all. You have already studied them several times till now. Be confident of your preparation. Go through the short notes now. Revise important theorems and formulae to keep them fresh in memory. You can solve a couple of high difficulty level questions from topics that are your weak points to see if there’s any improvement. If not, don’t worry, focus on your strengths.
Commonly asked questions
MAT is conducted multiple times in a year. MAT 2024 exam dates were announced phase wise - February, May, August and December. Candidates were allowed to register for multiple mode and multiple attempts. The MAT exam dates 2024 are given below:
MAT Test Mode | MAT Test Date | MAT Registration Ends | Availability of MAT Admit Card |

Don’t Fret Over Topics Not Covered
In case you’ve not been able to cover all the topics of MAT syllabus, don’t worry about it. It is not mandatory to solve all the 200 questions in the exam. You can leave out questions from topics you've not prepared and solve the ones you’ve prepared well. The advantage of MAT is that you can attempt it again after two-three months as it is conducted in four phases in a year. If MAT February 2023 attempt doesn’t go well, appear for it in May 2023 phase with better preparation.
Go Through Latest MAT Question Paper
To make a MAT exam day strategy, go through the latest MAT question paper to know the types of questions asked and weightage of topics. This will help you in deciding which questions to attempt and which ones to skip.
Make MAT Exam Day Strategy
Making an exam day strategy is extremely helpful in optimizing performance in exam. MAT is a speed based test of 2.5 hours wherein candidates have to solve 200 questions. However, there is no sectional time limit, so it may happen that a candidate will end up spending more that required time on one section and fall short of it in the other section. A day before, decide how much time you will spend on which section. The score of Indian and Global Environment section is not taken into consideration for MAT percentile calculation, so it should be your last priority. If you face time crunch, skip it altogether.
Commonly asked questions
Keep a target score and percentile in mind and attempt to achieve that first while attempting the MAT exam 2023. You can improvise on that further.

The MAT test centre address will be mentioned on the MAT admit card 2023. Check the location, reporting time, distance and mode of transport from your location a day before the exam, so that you don’t get late or face any hassle in reaching the test centre.

MAT is overall an easy exam, but if you compare the sections, usually the Quantitative Aptitude is considered tougher than rest of the four sections, due to calculation intensive questions.

All the MAT sections have same weightage, i.e. 30 questions and 30 marks. So candidates must keep in mind to prepare each section properly and poor performance in one section can affect overall score.

The percentile needed for admission would depend on the category you belong to. JAGSoM accepts various entrance examinations for admission to the MBA/PGDM course, like CAT, XAT, MAT, etc.
As per the estimated XAT cutoff in 2026, a percentile of 70 would be good enough to secure a chance at admission
