The NEET counselling round 2 concluded with the institute reporting process on September 25, 2025. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released the revised schedule for the NEET Counselling 2025 for the second to fourth rounds. The entire counselling process will conclude on November 5, 2025.
There were a total of 7,088 Virtual Vacancies and 13,501 Clear Vacancies in the MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses in the NEET 2025 Counselling Round 2 seat matrix. 1,134 MBBS and BDS seats have been added in this round.
The Ministry of Education is conducting a detailed data analysis to explore the possibility of shifting NEET to an online mode. Officials have confirmed that NTA is examining whether a computer-based test can be introduced in the coming years. The exam may also be conducted in multiple days and slots.

What is NEET Exam?
The full form of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). It is the sole entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical and paramedical courses offered in India. The exam is conducted once a year in offline or paper-pencil-based test (PBT) mode for three hours and 20 minutes or 200 minutes. As far as the NEET exam pattern is concerned, there are 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, out of which 180 questions have to be attempted.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the medical entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India. The exam is conducted in 13 languages. Over 20 lakh candidates appear for the NEET exam. MBBS is the most preferred medical course followed by BDS and BSc Nursing. Last year, the number of NEET aspirants surpassed the previous years' records.

Major Changes Introduced in NEET 2025
This year, several new changes have been introduced in NEET 2025. The major changes are listed below:
- Change in exam pattern: The NEET 2025 exam pattern has been revoked to that of the pre-COVID era. The optional questions have been removed and the duration has been reduced by 20 minutes.
- NEET 2025 official website URL: The NEET 2025 official website address has changed. Last year, the NEET official website URL was neet.ntaonline.in and this year, it is neet.nta.nic.in. Incidentally, this year's URL is the same as that of the previous year, i.e. NEET 2023.
- Implementation of APAAR ID: This year, NTA has implemented APAAR ID to the application process, wherein, if a candidate selects APAAR, then his/her past academic records are auto-populated to the NEET 2025 application form.
- Number and choice of NEET 2025 exam cities: The total number of NEET 2025 exam cities in India has been reduced from 557 to 552. On the other hand, candidates can select three instead of two exam cities.
- Change in Tie-Breaking Policy: There has been a change in the last criterion of the NEET 2025 tie-breaking policy. It says that in case, the first seven criteria are exhausted and the tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.

NEET 2025 Counselling
Counselling: 29 Sep ' 25 - 05 Oct ' 25
The NEET 2025 counselling process is being conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) from July 21 to November 5, 2025. Candidates who qualified for the exam by securing the NEET cutoff marks will be able to participate in the NEET counselling process. The NEET counselling process is conducted in two categories, for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85 per cent State Quota (SQ) seats. MCC conducts the counselling for the AIQ seats, and the state counselling authorities or the Directorates of Medical Education for different states are conducting the NEET state counselling.

The NEET 2025 result was declared on June 14, 2025, in online mode. Later, NTA released the NEET 2025 scorecard for candidates whose results were withheld on July 15, 2025, as per the MP High Court Order. NEET 2025 Cutoff
NEET cutoff is released by NTA along with the result. NEET 2025 cutoff refers to the minimum score one has to obtain out of 720 in order to qualify for the exam. The NEET cutoff marks vary for each candidate category. Based on the NEET 2025 analysis, it is predicted by experts that the NEET 2025 cutoff will be lower than last year. Even though the NEET cutoff percentile will be the same, the scores are expected to be lower.

NEET 2025 Answer Key, Question Papers and Analysis
NEET 2025 question paper was provided to candidates on the day of the exam at the exam centre. The sets of the NEET question paper 2025 were 45, 46, 47 and 48. This year, there were only four sets and no subsets. Coaching institutes released the NEET 2025 question paper and answer key PDFs on the exam day itself. NTA released the NEET answer key 2025 (provisional) and OMR Response Sheet PDFs on June 3, 2025, and candidates could submit challenges by June 5, 2025, till 11.50 PM. The final answer key for NEET 2025 was released online on June 14, 2025.

The first question is from Physics, and the second one is from Chemistry.
As compared to the provisional answer keys, there has been a change in the final answer key. Originally, it had one correct option, but based on the objections, it has two correct options. Now there are two questions in Physics and Chemistry, each with two correct options. According to policy, NTA will award full marks to all candidates who have attempted the question.

NEET 2025 Provisional Answer Key by NTA
The NEET 2025 question paper sets saw a change this year in terms of the nomenclature of codes. This year, there were four sets of question papers, 45, 46, 47 and 48, and no subsets. Till last year, the codes were alphanumeric, and each set had six subsets.
Candidates preparing for next year's NEET must solve NEET previous year question papers to be well-versed in the exam pattern and structure. Solving previous years’ NEET question papers will give much-needed exposure to candidates in terms of the difficulty level, chapter-wise weightage of question papers, and question types, to name a few. The medium or language of NEET question papers is 13, including English and Hindi. NTA has released previous years' NEET question paper PDFs except for the NEET 2022 question paper.

NEET 2025 Admit Card
The NEET 2025 admit card was released online on the official website of the NTA NEET 2025 exam on April 30, 2025. Only registered candidates have been issued the NEET admit card or hall ticket, which carries crucial information such as exam date and time, centre address, guidelines, etc., along with candidate details including photograph and signature. Candidates failing to carry the NEET admit card or hall ticket will not be allowed to appear for the exam. In case of wrong information printed on the admit card of NEET 2025, they have to contact NTA to get those rectified.
NTA has released the NEET 2025 city allotment slip. The NEET City Allotment Slip is a document which mentions the city in which candidates' exam centre will be located. The intent of this document is to help candidates make the necessary logistical arrangement for the day of the exam.

The total number of NEET 2025 exam centres is expected to be over 5,000. The total number of exam cities has been reduced from 571 to 566. The number of NEET exam cities has been reduced by five. However, the total number of exam cities outside India has remained 14. Last year, the number of NEET centres across India and abroad was 4,750, which were located in 557 cities across India and 14 international cities. The NEET 2025 exam centres list or the city list was released by NTA along with the information brochure. Applicants could select three exam cities as per their preference, based on which NTA will allot the NEET 2025 centre.
