As per the official notice, BSEB will return the INR 200 application and prospectus fee, which was initially collected through the OFSS system, directly to the respective educational institutions. The refund will be processed only once the institutions update their bank account details on the OFSS portal.
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced a refund of the application and prospectus fees collected from students enrolled in intermediate classes through the Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS). A total of INR 200 per student will be refunded to the respective schools and colleges.
Refund Process for BSEB Intermediate Students
As per the official notice, BSEB will return the INR 200 application and prospectus fee, which was initially collected through the OFSS system, directly to the respective educational institutions. The refund will be processed only once the institutions update their bank account details on the OFSS portal.
Bank Account Details Missing or Incorrect for Many Institutions
The BSEB has informed that several schools and colleges have either missing or incorrect bank account details in the board’s records. A list of these institutions has been published on the OFSS website at ofssbihar.net. The board has urged the principals of these concerned schools and colleges to update their bank account details between March 28 and April 2, 2025.
Important Details Required for the Refund
To facilitate the refund process, principals and heads of institutions must update the following details on the OFSS portal:
- Bank account number of the institution
- Name of the account holder (as per bank records)
- Name of the bank
- IFSC code (to be entered carefully, ensuring that zero and ‘O’ are correctly mentioned)
- Name of the bank branch
Consequences of Incorrect Bank Details
The official notice further emphasized that if the bank details are not correctly entered, the refund will not be processed. In such cases, the concerned school or college principal will be held solely responsible. The board has stated that if the bank details are filled out incorrectly, the refund could be transferred to an incorrect bank account, and the responsibility for such an error will lie entirely with the concerned institution.
How to Update Bank Details on the OFSS Portal
For those institutions listed with missing or incorrect bank details, the process to update the details is straightforward. The steps are as follows:
- Log in to the OFSS portal at ofssbihar.net/ofss-portal.
- Click on the ‘college information’ tab.
- Select the ‘manage bank’ option.
- Click on the ‘add’ button to upload the bank details.
- Click on the ‘click here for OTP’ button for verification.
- Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
- Click on ‘submit’ to complete the process.
Board Warns Against Incorrect Entries
The board has issued a clear warning that principals and authorized representatives of the institutions must carefully fill in their bank details. Any errors in the information could lead to the refund being directed to an incorrect account, and BSEB will not be responsible for such mistakes.
Deadline for Updates
The last date for updating the bank details is April 2, 2025, so all concerned institutions are encouraged to take immediate action to avoid any delays in the refund process.
