Shift to Informal Interactions in Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025
For the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025, Prime Minister Modi opted for a more informal setting, taking students to Delhi’s iconic Sunder Nursery for a face-to-face interaction. This change in format allowed students to engage in open discussions with the Prime Minister and special guest Deepika Padukone.
Competition and Self-Reflection: Deepika Padukone’s Advice
During the session, Padukone emphasized the role of healthy competition and self-reflection in overcoming stress. “Competition is a part of life,” she said. “It’s not bad, but we must focus on our own strengths while working on our weaknesses. Recognizing this helps in tackling stress.”
The actress, who has openly discussed her battle with depression, shared her personal journey, urging students to embrace their strengths and learn how to find happiness in their abilities.
Managing Stress: Tips from Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone offered practical advice for managing stress, particularly for students preparing for board exams. “To manage stress, talk to your parents the night before exams,” she suggested. “Identify the cause of your stress and express it to someone you trust.”
She also shared three important mental health tips for students:
- Prioritize Sleep: “Sleep is a freely available superpower.”
- Get Fresh Air and Sunlight: "Go out for adequate sunlight and fresh air."
- Reach Out for Help: "Always reach out when you feel overwhelmed."
Padukone also emphasized the importance of patience, and suggested that students take short breaks to refresh their minds, so they can return to their studies with a renewed focus.
Breaking the Stigma Around Mental Health
The actress took a moment to discuss the stigma surrounding mental health in India. “Mental health used to be a stigma,” Padukone said. “But once I started talking about it, I felt free, light. Depression, anxiety, and stress can affect anyone at any time.”
She also mentioned the role of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Exam Warriors’ book, where he advocates for students to “express, never suppress” their feelings. Padukone added that this mindset helps students live a happier and healthier life, especially during stressful exam periods.
